After some tests I have found that close range weapons (only really tested projectiles) can suffer horrifically if you get too close.
I find this very strange as they often has such small optimal ranges that its inevtible you will suffer this issue.
My Dual 650's with a 3.5km Optimal are performing better against other BS's at 7km than 3.5km and practically are useless below 2km.
The icing on the cake was yesterday evening I used my Interceptor with 200mm autocannons against a Capturable station (targets dont get much slower or bigger than that) and at 0m (ie right next to it) I couldnt hit the station at all. As soon as I moved back a 100m I hit everytime.
You really are getting there but something is wrong at very close ranges imo.....not the worst problem ever but Id just like some clarification as I might be simply overestimating the potential of autocannons
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Oh dont get me wrong, I agree that being 0m from your target isnt the norm but I was pretty damn shocked when I missed 11 shots in a row against a Station.
I dont mind the fact that I have to sit at 5km with my 3km Optimal guns but I just have balance interests at heart.
Some folks will like the fact that with an 800mm they can do good damage at 15km but realistically I think Optimal should mean Optimal (go figure). My station experience tells me something is wrong, although god knows this patch was way better than last. I just like to highlight issues and see if anyone else is getting the same.
Its just a bit weird to me that a Tachyon with a 30km Optimal can still hit another BS ok at 12km but a Dual 650 with 3.5km optimal cannot hit another BS at 1km.
