These scams are for 100's of millions of isk. To be able to spend that sort of cash on these deals a character must either:
a) Have played for several months and should know better b) Is a brand new player who has either bought his character or bought his isk, and so therefore deserves to lose the money IMO.

i agree, as what i said at the last part of its reminders regarding that tread. i also mention the words you tell me now, but as to a new player that time when it happens, its a lil bit normal for a newbie like me that time to grab it without any sense of getting scamm. i just put examples here to show the tecnique of those scammers, as what my trend title says, i must expand it for the new players so they can have further more head ups on how serious this matter is, how is it done so they can detect it when they will encounter such scamms, examples are very much important to new player... as what my article purpose should be. it must emphasize and demonstrate those acts of scamming so they can detect it easily...
as for your comment, thank you for posting i realy appricitae you come up with a relevant reply. i expect more knowledgable players will post there examples here with explainations so new players might have more info regarding this matter... |

Actually that writing style leaves me suspecting this is some wierd super-villian style attempt to confuse noobs. It switches between good and horrible way to much to not be on purpose.
If the OP really wanted to help he'd post it in the right forum. If the OP really wanted to help he'd work on making it well written and he'd do research on the subject first. The only thing worse then a poorly written guide, is one written by someone who has no idea what they are talking about. I know a bit about human anatomy, doesn't mean I should right a guide for surgeons to use.
I mean come on. Warning about freeform contracts? A scammer is going to go through the trouble of moving a faction ship to a trial account by using multiple account and a POS, because you'd trust a trial account to have an expensive ship more (Can you seriously read that story without saying "WTF!" at the end?)? A scammer is going to talk you into going into low-sec with a hauler filled with all your stuff and apparently you'll think this is a good idea? Anyone who read the 'guide' and thought it was a good idea is either high or part of whatever wierd scam this obviously is.

MY ANSWERS TO A CRITISMS
Khemul Zula says: " If the OP really wanted to help he'd work on making it well written and he'd do research on the subject first." "know a bit about human anatomy, doesn't mean I should right a guide for surgeons to use. "
my answer: corrections! again please read the introduction page you will see my claims " I ACKNOWLEDGE MY SELF TO BE A NON EXPERT NOR DONT PRETEND TO BE ONE" and all of this are based on my own fidings etc. - first of all via that statement that i claim that im not expert and all this issue here are again based on actual experience. actual experience is much better than complex theoritical ones that may or may not be existent, unlike to those common things that you already do experienced and prooved to be true.we dont have to be experts just to share a real experience do we?
*Khemul Zula says: "I mean come on. Warning about freeform contracts?" A scammer is going to go through the trouble of moving a faction ship to a trial account by using multiple account and a POS, because you'd trust a trial account to have an expensive ship more"
-my answer: - lol! read my post carefuly! hahaha, i clearly state there that its not a fraction ship and its only a ship which is ordinary one being changed name to a fraction ship for scamming purposes. please read carefuly next time before giving your critism to anyone i advise you to read an article thouroughly first cos you might miss the point again.

Seriously? Okay my fault for using the wrong word there.
A scammer is going to go through the trouble of moving a ship to a trial account by using multiple accounts and a POS, because you'd trust a trial account to have an expensive ship more?
Better?
As for the experience part. Experience means absolutely nothing if you lack the knowledge to understand that experience. You understand what the scam is, but you obviously don't understand how it works (which is strange because half of them are so obvious). My point while your guide has some good advice in it, your examples are filled with bad advice and misleading information. |

Edited by: GENERAL CONSTANTINO on 22/11/2008 12:05:13 goodness. i agree that paying account is not trustworthy to have a EXPENSIVE FRACTION SHIPS, but please as what i said, the ships that has been transfered at a trial is only a FAKE FRACTION SHIPS, like the example that i said : ordinary caracal that has been change name to Caracal Navy Issue.
i hope its clear this time. honestly its there, you can review it, since trial account cant change the ships name when they use it, the paying account will change the name first before it will be pass to the trial via that method, ofcourse its ordinary ship named to a fraction ship cos if its real then its redundant like what you said, and if its real fraction its not a scamm already since the trial will be selling a real fraction ship this time =( which is also imposible cos fraction can only sold at contracts and trial cant use contracts as restriction.
what i pointed out to be clear is that those ship that has been pass to trial is only FAKE FRACTION SHIPS, intended for scamming. hope its clearer this time..

From Super J0sh Bill and Exchange manager, Bank Of Amarr Kor-Azor Burkina Faso.
My dear
I chose to reach you through this medium because it is the fastest and mostreliable way of communication, as I wish to sollicite for your urgent assistance in what I strongly believe will be of great benefit to both of us.
I am Super J0sh, an Accounts Manager with BANK OF AMARR in Kor-Azor.The issue I am presenting to you is a case of one of my late customer, anational of Caldari who died in a Badger crash leaving an unclaimed treasury bills (Bonds) with my bank.
In 2003, my late customer invested intreasury bill bonds here in my Bank in Kor-Azor totaling 25.3 billion Caldari Isks ($25,300,000,000.00) which was due to be collected in 2005 with accrued dividends. On my yearly appraisal of my customers at the turn of every year, I discovered that this fixed deposit remained overdue for retrieval. I had put up series of mails and bank notifications to him which were sent Back uncollected. I later discovered that he passed onalong with his wife and his relations In a tragic air crash in June 2003.
Since his death in 2003, I have managed his account expecting any of his extended relatives to come forward to claim his money but allattempts to trace his relatives over the years has been fruitless since he did not declare any of his relatives information in his bankingrecords with us. Added to this, professional ethics obligates us to act with extreme confidentiality when dealing with clients accounts of this type.
According to the banking law, the money will be Bequeathed to the government if it remains unclaimed with the next couple months. However, I don't belong to that school of thought which proposes that The fortunes of unlucky people be given to the government and I am fully convinced that no one would turn up to execute the letter of Administration to claim his funds before the next 2 months. Hence, Idecided to contact you to come in as the next of kin to my late customer so that the funds totalling $25,300,000,000.00 can then be transferred to your nominated bank account in your country within 20 working days after we have filed in your claims transfer application to the bank.I will prepare every operation that will assist you to claim the funds As the next of kin and everything will be left between you and me. The Share would be 40% for you and 60% for me.
Again, I feel that you may be apprehensive and consider this amount too big for you to defend. It does not matter, as there are documents to back it up.This transaction is risk free and as the most senior account manager with the bank be rest assured that all documents to enable you get this fund as the next of kin will be carefully worked. Do not be bothered that you are not related in any way to my late customer as I am in position to affix your name as the next of kin.
Kindly send your reply enclosing your
transfer fee of 100 million isks along with:
Full Name.......................... .. Mailing Address...................... Phone Number........................ Fax Number........................... Age.................................. Occupation........................... Sex.................................. Constelation.........................
to my private evemail address for confidentiality, to enable me talk to you before I send you the certificate of deposit and other relevant information relating to this fund transfer.
I need not emphasize the confidentiality of this issue and I therefore appeal to you not discuss this request with anybody, even if you decline to take full advantage of this great and urgent opportunity in my bank.
I await your urgent response through my private email
Sincerely, Mr. Super J0sh

Now this is an elaborite SCAMM / as general Constantino so eloquently puts it.
He sais that you are chosen to recive isk ( or some other currency for free ) .. because you were chosen. You need not be related .. because he can fix that problem .. aka
Quote: Bla bla ... I am in position to affix your name as the next of kin.
All he wants is a measly transfer fee of 100.000.000 isk ( or some other currency )
and of course. he doesn't want anyone to know that he has contacted you .. or why .. aka
Quote: Bla .. emphasize the confidentiality of this issue ... Bla bla bla.
This is the worst SCAMM of all because this also is practiced in real life .. and if you get these kind of messages or E-mails ..thow them away IMMEDIATELY and don't even think twice .. or better yet .. call the police and show them.
Once you transfer the small fee required that money is gone for good .. never to return and you will never see the promised riches or whatever was promised.
- J'oorus
P.S. Super J0sh .. Maybe you think this is sarcastic, or something, but warning against this particular type of scam might have been presented in a more appropriate way, as not to mislead any simple people or kids.
Otherwize this is an interesting reply you made and it gives us all, a fair piece of warning, against this dangerous scam.

Use of Formatting:
Caps = shouting. Don't do it unless you're angry about something.
Use Bold, Italic and Underline as you would swear words, sparingly to really make a point stand out. Otherwise it's just lost in the jumble of similarly formatted words.
White space (seperating paragraphs with a blank line etc) is a good way to make it readable instead of just a wall of text.
Nice piece of work though but a bit hard to read due to bad formatting.
-- There's a simple difference between kinky and perverted. Kinky is using a feather to get her in the mood. Perverted is using the whole chicken. All this has happened before and will happen again |
