Hello,
I just started to get into research and picked a few agents I wish to skill towards to.
Now one agent lvl 3 asks for this Astronautic Engineering skill.
Searching around for it ingame it seems it sells for such an amount in ISK that I cannot afford it, and quite frankly I am not sure if it is worth it then to go for this agent. As you can see I am totally new to this branch, so I cannot judge if I really need this.
So I did a search on the forums to see if I could find out where it drops so I cound possibly try to get it this way.
But ... the only information that I can seem to find is that as from last year the Skillbook has been taken off the NPC market.
And from another post I understand it doesn't even drop as loot either.
So my questions are:
1. Are my findings above true?
2. If the book is NOT available anymore, why does this agent still ask for this skill?
3. Does this mean all players post the skillbook removal patch cannot use this R&D tree (or pay a somewhat steep amout of ISK)?
4. If it IS available somehow, where does it drop?
5. If I do save up for this skillbook and buy it, can I possibly earn it back by usig this agent in a reasonable time (as this would be a huge investent for me)?

which agent -
that skill is not needed for any invention [AFAIK]
you dont need that skill

Book is no longer availlable, removed from the game
Researching that field will get you Nothing...
Choose a different field / agent to research.

Well this agent: Viritie Arata asks for it
As I said I am very new to this and looked up some againts closeby, this one showed up so I just checked his requirements and tried to meet them ...
But if it can be confirmed I really don't need this skill/agent I can stop wasting my time on this issue.
I just got confused because the skillbooks are offered for sale, just for a price that made me spit my tea to my monitor,
So I tried to find more info on this.
Any good advice to a newbie reseacher would be most appreaciated.

Ok, thanks for your answer, I will look for another agent.
PS. I do think CCP should remove this agent and/or skill from this agent then if it is pretty much useless.
If I did not come here for your advice I would have never known. |

You don't need all the skills the agent has. Just one and it can be 1 level below agent's. |

you only need 1 skill for teh research project - just choose one you can use,
level 1 of the skill is good enough though level 5 is the best :-P
