Didn't wade through the whole EFT thread for this, but I didn't see it mentioned when I skimmed a few random pages.
I need explanations on the DPS and tanking numbers:
For "Defense", what do the top number and bottom number mean? What is sustained defense and what is reinforced defense?
Same with "Firepower". What do the top and bottom numbers mean? What is total DPS and what is turret DPS and why are both numbers the same when I mouse over the icon? Seems with six turrets my turret DPS should be different from total DPS. Also, what does "volley DPS" mean? Sounds like it means alpha damage but if that were the case I'd expect it to be six times my single turret damage since I have six turrets, but that's not the case. |

Sustained defense is the amount that you can tank by micro-managing the activation of your rep/booster to run within your peak cap recharge.
Reinforced defense is how much you can tank until your cap runs out. Originally by: Dirk Magnum Same with "Firepower". What do the top and bottom numbers mean? To see a single turret's DPS/Alpha strike you need to deactivate the others.
The values you are see are for all of your turrets. The reason for specifying turret DPS, is to contrast it with damage from missiles, drones, smartbombs or other damage sources.
Volley damage is the same as alpha-strike. DPS is the average damage per second, and can optionally be adjusted to include reload times. |

So with six 250mm Railguns and 5 mil in gunnery SP I get 61 DPS. Wonderful.
Thanks for the explanations though. |

Did you remember to select your character, or is it still on the default <Without Skills> option?
That or what type of ammo are you using?
I get 60 DPS when I put six 250 Rails with Antimater on a Myrm with no skills. |

Nah it's with my characters current skills. I guess looking at the base damage of whats being used it makes sense, but still it isn't exactly difficult to tank that. Gonna mess around with damage mods and shorter ranged ammo I guess. |

Ya, that should help a fair bit. |
