just throwing that out there. . .
Not in all situations. When you're facing stiletto or crows for example that use webs, this male will tackle and kill the target while the sader might lose its target because it has no web. It depends a bit. ----------------------------------------- [Video] The Cruise |

Guess what, they aren't combat inties. They were designed for tackling roles. You want your cake and eat it too, but it aint going to happen.
And who the Hell flies them, I ask?
oh, i dunno, just about any tackler worth his salt. hell, i fly ceptors, and while i prefer the taranis over the ares, i do bring ares for pure tackle fit. and guess what? my tackle ares has two empty high slots. yup, its only high slot item is a single standard missile launcher. i fit it like that because it needs the cpu for the mids and lows the way i fit it. and you know what? it performs well at its job, which is tackling.

Edited by: Tiirae on 22/11/2008 12:15:41 Edited by: Tiirae on 22/11/2008 12:14:27 Crusader is definitely better as a solo or small gang ship, but the malediction is a great tackler.
I've managed to ***** my way onto 67 killmails with one, and I don't fly it that often.
Shines mostly in gatecamps though, and for god's sake dont let a taranis come anywhere near you. I usually fit standard launchers for the range, although rockets do more DPS. but a close-range malediction is a dead malediction.
Have to admit I haven't flown one since the patch though.

No, I did not expect ceptors to do DPS. I had hoped that was clarified. I expect them to be able to at least hit their targets though, when they do shoot at them, presuming you have your range.
As for AFs, I fly Minmatar ones there. Since the AF boost was more or less a steaming pile of bull, they are really the only ones worth much attention in my book.
And again, just so you don't forget it, I want to remind you that you are a detestable troll, and that as far as I'm concerned you can lay down and rot. I didn't take you up on your 'Falcon challenge' earlier because of this, and when you said that you'd changed your opinion on lasers just to spite me, I think that's pretty much when you reached an argumentative rock bottom. So why don't you go toke an exhaust pipe, hm?
As a frigate only pilot, maxed out on all frig sized ships and classes on all races i whould have to say that this 1 line i underlined states why people are getting a little irked by you not grasping the roles of these ships, i myself love my malediction, and think its a great little tackler, but then when it comes to flying something for any form of DPS i would go for a taranis, or perhaps move to AF class ship...the point is this, if your an inti and in a gang, you tackle, your gang behind you should be killijng the one you have a point on and the secondary tackle and ur defence should be an AF or 2 tio help clean off any frigates or anti-inti gank inties on your tail...however if your flying inties tio do any damage to other targets i wouldnt use a malediction, i would use the sader (for me the ranis) and go gank setup with a point for the 'maybe' occasions or to switch off the inti im swatting. frigs all have thier uses, if you use 1 for what its not designed for, it will suck....would you use a minigun for sniping? use pink as a basis for woodland camoflage? use a tank for sneaking into an enemies base? no...my suggestion is to get 1-2 gang members in AFs to be your wingmen and ONLY take out targets attacking you...say a wolf and an ishkur...or even 2 inties for gank like a sader and a ranis, then when there is no threats, they can turn on the primary as well Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of themself without that law is both. |

I too have never lost a Malediction to a Crow.
I still use my pre-QR setup with much success
dcu2, od2 x2 mwd, web, scram (lol 11km) rocket2 x4, DLP laser w/ scorch
It still works, only real threats are Crusader, Rail Taranis, and Raptor (yes, Raptor) - FRIGANK|FRIGANK 2 |

As far as The Tackle inties go, the Malediction is one of the best. 30km locking range and 30km disruptor range in gang and room for a sensor booster to get a 1s locktime on frigates or 1.3s locktime on pods. With todays larger gates the Malediction has a much greater chance of putting a point on something that lands outside your bubble.
Its one of the fastest Inties still. Infact, after the changes the differences are so minimal its not even relevant.
Cap stable while running your MWD/Point/Sensor booster.
And as an Afterburner/close range inty the Armor bonus makes it more surviveable than the others. The Malediction is definetly not going to be winning any top damage dealer awards, but thats not its role. Its an amazing tackler.

Drones are nasty, rockets are great at killing them.
It's role is to tackle and survive, I think it's pretty damn good at that atm.
The claw has the same problems with auto's, they are more useful to kill off the light drones you WILL face.

HA-HA-HA!
No.
Also, once again you should think of all the other ships that use rockets and have to actually deal damage.

Quote: So you agree on rocket bonus now being totally bogus and/or rockets being a totally worthless weapon system.
Rockets were crap before QR, fit standard missiles or turrets on maledictions, heretics, vengence etc before the patch, do so after the patch.
Malediction still one of the best tacklers. -------------------------- NOTR How to Fail at Eve
