Hello David
Yes I can only confirm what you say. Playing with one client is possible, something have made at least that possible after the patch saturday. But I certainly cant log on two accounts any more, its not practical playing that way after the patch.
Everything was fine before quantum, and the testing have all been focused on fleet battles, but its not the real issue. Oh I bet it is certainly fun for those who do that, but a wast majority of the time we play we do other things.
And yes I use 32 bit also and I am not going to pay 2000 for one operating system only to play Eve with - and have to partition on the HD for the other windows and regular tasks I use the computer for.
I get more and more convinced we need a rollback. Yes Quantum have so far been just one big disappointment.

I must disappointedly concur. Although the problem is better than it was, I still get the symptoms of a memory leak after being logged in for about a half hour. Running XP with 2 gig of ram, doing nothing more strenuous than mining a high sec roid field, the client will start freezing for a couple of seconds, then going on as if nothing had happened. The length of the freeze increases the longer I play. It happens about once per minute or so. When the length of the freeze gets to 5 seconds, I get fed up enough to relog and that takes care of the problem for another 30 minutes or so. It sucks.

I came to the forums tonight specifically to see if others were still experiencing the problem or if it was just my setup. "Houston, it looks like we still have a problem."
perfect description of the same problem i have

I'm still experiencing it too. I will say I get about double the play time before I have to restart the client, so there has been improvement, certainly at least that I've seen. Having said that, for me, the issue is still present.

Not fixed for me. I am running vista 64 on a mid range box intel e7200 cpu. 4m ram etc.. running two accounts on one box is almost unplayable.
Last night, I had many problems with intermittent client lag, gate jumps not working properly etc. etc.
Pretty disappointed tbo.

Still not fixed in Quantum Rise 1.0.2. Running four clients on one machine with four monitors, everything is fine when first starting up. After docking a few times frame rates are reduced by 1/3 in station. Even though the frame rates are above 25fps the motion is jerky and the windows repopulate slowly. After a few hours flying in space gets the same way. Was working fine pre Quantum Rise although I have installed the latest 180.48 Nvidia drivers.

I'm just playing one account and flying in a low pop system. Still the lag is so freakin bad that the game becomes unplayable. Not trying to stir up drama, but I've canceled my account. The game is unplayable. ___________________________________________________ The Escapist: EvE Online video review. |

Ditto on the lag, no matter what I'm doing in the game. After a couple of hours the lag is 5-6 seconds long every minute. I get it with one or two accounts running. Exiting and reload temporarily fixes it until the lag builds up again

Signed
Brackets effects etc are off, 4 of us tackle a carrier then the reinfocrements arrive and lagfest starts, 20 people shoot one carrier, this is really not a big battle but even after 5 minutes when the battle is long over i warp out 5 times due to lag. In an almost empty system with only us in it. And i still hear people complaining about memory leak. Something is still wrong ccp :(

There is still a memory leak on the Vista X64 platform, I've experienced it after being in the game for about 2 hours. It usually occurs after warping to a stargate or station that has players around it, causes the client to hang. I have had it crash on me twice out of the several times its happened.
Fix the Memory leaks please.
For those wondering what a Memory leak is, its when the client/program starts eating more system memory than it should, I've once seen this game eat 3 gigabytes of ram from my system before. Ah the good old days ;)

I don't know if its a memory leak or not as I did not check the memory usage. I can confirm that after an extended period of time, the client will start to experience 3 second pauses every so often.
Its akin to what Java does with some of the older poorer garbage collectors. _________ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

Hi!
I am running Windows XP 32 bit version, 2GB RAM, Intel Core Duo 4.3GHz. I play eve using dual accounting. In my fighting client i run a ramdisk to improve loading times and improve performance. In space i have around 10-15FPS with no brackets On my 2nd client i run eve Premium client with no tweaks whatsoever. In space i have around 60-70 FPS with all brackets..
Tell me what i'm doing right and i will give you a cookie:P. And yes, after sometime i lag/freeze for some secs. It's usual that some random pilot still appears in my overview at same distance and within several jumps.
Cheers

With QR dual clienting became impossible.
With the new fixes dual clienting for me is now fine. However after 2-3 hours not only is the game unplayable but my entire system also runs like treacle.
So it is a lot better but are still some issues.

So I'm not going crazy thinging the memory leak was fixed and it really wasn't! Ok, yeah... I have the same problem as you guys, running XP Pro 32 Bit and after about an hour the memory usage takes up pretty much all of 2 Gigs of RAM... This is even if I leave the ship inside a station and walk away for an hour, so I mean, if that doesn't prove the leak still exists, what does? Please fix this!

Game hitches after 30 minutes or so. Gets worse as time goes on, after a couple hours it takes a minute or two to quit out of the game. (cache clearing and all that I imagine) -------------------------------------------- Rules of engagement: 1) You win. 2) No you can't have a cookie.

I run two to three clients also, and ever since QR hit I get random issues where my computer slows to a crawl while I'm playing EVE. I'ts not just the EVE client that slows, the whole damn computer, it takes me almost 1 minute to move my mouse far enough to exit the client, then wait 30 sec before trying to log in again. I know I'm not the only one seeing this problem. And it doesn't just happen when I run 2 or more clients it happens while running one client. NO other game slows my computer like that, except maybe CRYSIS with all the bells and whistles turned on. I run the premium client with the premium settings turned off, and graphics options turned down.

Same here.
I used to be able to run 4 clients at once, now I can hardly open 3 with the 3rd one getting a white background and super lag which insta disappears if I close another client. ----------------- Destiny is not a matter of chance. From Patch notes for Quantum Rise 1.0.3
"# We discovered that certain memory re-allocation behavior gave bad performance on Windows XP. We switched from regular memory heaps to low fragmentation heaps, which gave a tremendous boost to model loading on Windows XP."
"# A memory leak has been identified and fixed resulting in a much smoother performance overall.
"# Under certain conditions the graphics engine would find objects that did not exist in the scene anymore. This has now been fixed and will no longer result in performance degradation."
Let's hope they have finally nailed that cucarracha.
