After doing the mission twice I'm pretty sure that no faction loot is there anymore (maybe this had been said before and I missed it). The structure that gave you a little chance of surprise with a tiny faction mod now and then holds only metal scraps, daily products and the ****, not even mods anymore. The point why I write this is cos I'm damn angry about how all good things get nerved by CCP. While in 0.0 the players can fill their pockets with ISK in very short time (don't tell me it is risky within your sov), the empire becomes more and more a waste of time - missions, exploration, mining.... no faction spawns, no tiny sweeties for the average player to hope for. Just a small 1% chance to have a good day once in a while would be great. It's not about the ISK (you have bounty, salvage, loot, reward) but for the moment of surprise and success . When I did Guristas Extra my only intention was to approche this can in the bonus room and open it like a x-mas present, but now the thrill is gone. Please CCP listen more to the players and what they suggest for missions (most of the new missions are crap as you can read in the forums) .
Nuff said
Please don't put away the good parts (or did somebody complain about it?)

maybe someone found this to result in too much isk/time for L4s. but i agree, only the slightest chance on a nice drop makes the game more fun, for that i would accept normal loot to be more crap stuff or simply less loot.

I spent 2 months in 0.0 and didn't exactly manage to fill my pockets with isk. The only people who make any money in 0.0 are the big alliances with their moons that literally **** isk, the rest just barely get by. Most importantly, how are you supposed to tell whether this is part of my post or my signature? |

Hi , i did GE last week and dropped a dread 450mm rail . These things do drop but i have to say its the only time i have had faction loot from this mission even though i have completed it a large number of times , I'd say its a very very slim chance .

This isn't necessarily true. If I have a lot of time to rat or mine in decent sec space in the Drones Region I can make a lot more ISK/hour than I can in Level 4s. It's just a lot more boring than Level 4s (nothing is more repetitive than pruning space and then chaining spawns). Once you get a system pruned properly, you can make amazing ISK/hour ratting.
I much prefer Level 4s from a RP perspective - it somehow makes more sense that the Serpentis have a blockade on a gate for the 500th time than that the 5678th group of three battleships has reappeared in Belt 7. My perspective may change a bit once I have a good hulk pilot and can participate more in for profit mining ops with my friends - basically nice, long sessions of shooting the breeze on TS with people I like hanging out with. Apart from that, the primary appeal of Level 4s is that you can run a couple of them per night when you only have a couple of hours each evening to play. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

To be honest, I find it a little premature for people to be claiming that GE no longer drops Guristas mods in the bonus room, and plain silly for people to claim the same after having done the mission twice. I don't know how many dozens of times I've done this mission, and a grand total of 4 times have I gotten any Guristas mods (A Medium Smartbomb, a 75mm Railgun and two passive shield hardeners.)
Also, the OP must be smoking the good stuff for thinking that 0.0 players can, on average, line their pockets with ISK faster than L4 Mission Runners. But if the OP is right and that GE no longer drops Guristas mods, then it is not exactly a nerf...more of a "Let's make L4 missions more bland and repetetive than they already are."
A better solution, in my opinion, would be to let every Extravaganza mission have a fair chance of dropping a faction mod...but also make every Extravaganza mission consume the tags needed for the bonus room. I think that would make the bonus rooms not only more balanced, but more interesting as well. |

Zak, I'm sorry that I wasn't more precise. I did the GE about 50 times but not with this char, so after the patch I recon a complete change on the loot in the bonus boom. I got also maybe 5 pieces of faction stuff and usually a good meta mod. That's what I would call "BONUS" room. By the way the Angel Extra deserves some goody in the bonus room too. The point I wanted to show is that such features like this single lil chance in the GE to get something better than usual made me happy. About the 0.0 I'm sorry too if I insulted the community there, I just said what I heard from friends (I never was there I admid shamefully ) and how they brag with the easy ISK in short time (ratting, exploration) they can make.
I don't smoke stuff and I am mature (and not a native english speaker)

Edited by: ISpam on 24/11/2008 16:15:23 Stop *****ing. If 0.0 is so great then go join a 0.0 alliance. If you dont want to do that you can always go to 0.0 space. You say null sec is safe in your sov? Everywhere that there is 0.0 there are roaming gangs. Idiots will die. If you do not pay attention to local at all times you will die. Running level 4s you make nearly the same isk/hour as you do in 0.0 but with none of the risks. The penalty for being a carebear is you miss out on some of the rewards of null sec. Rewards that you gain for taking a risk. If you do not want to take that risk then stfu and run your missions. Sure you can quickly make alot of isk in 0.0, if you get lucky, But only if you get a faction or commander spawn. And the chances of getting those are very low.

There's plenty of money to be made in L4s as is, without the need for an additional faction or meta drop in the bonus room. The bounties from the bonus room rats are reward enough. In light of all these cries for removing L4s from hisec, and in light of CCP tending to listen to such cries, I'd say let it go if you want to keep running L4s at all in hisec. You can get your thrill of opening up X-mas boxes by doing exploration missions.

You clearly never lived in 0.0. If it's so not risky, just go claim sov on a system?

Am I in the wrong film? The "0.0" example was not appropriate and I apologize but why the hell can't you get the meaning of the post? It is not about the ISK vs. risk of high sec or 0.0 space, it is not about loss of ISK from a deduced close to zero chance of getting a small faction loot, it is about the nerfing of good things of a big part of the game - missions. Forget about the ISK, missions can be quite boring after a while and those unpredictible elements like overseer spawns or faction drops make them fun despite of all routine. Who of you don't hope for an overseer in Worlds Collide (or is it the relaxing long travel between the gates)? Well, I really hope the planned branching of missions idea will bring back some fun again.

Edited by: Reandom Traas on 25/11/2008 01:07:35 I could not agree more with the Op. The most exciting missions are the ones where there is that tiny chance of something cool happening and/or dropping. I would happily take lower ISK and LP rewards for more chance opportunities like the GE bonus room and the WC Overseer. Out of the uncountable times I have done GE, the one time the bonus room dropped a DG Invulnerabilty mod was one of the most exciting moments I can remember. It is not about ISK vs time vs danger, it is about adding a small amount of unknown.

Well the main thing to notice is before the patch there was a Overseer structure in bonus room and now its name is same but it has become a large collidable object, so it can be easily seen that there shouldn't be any faction loot drop from it although it may occur who know since i haven't coded it lol

Why should they? It's a simple mission balance act. GE is still one of the most profitable L4's there is, and this fits perfectly well with a rebalance of empire. vs. 0.0. The top rewards should be in 0.0, not empire.

Biggest bullcrap posted in a long time.
And before you start calling me a carebear or n00b. I think I flew around in 0.0 a long time before a lot of the people down there at the moment.
Why do Empire people allways say that living in 0.0 is soo much more profitable? It only is if you have a good group at your back and your not one of the people who mainly flies security details.
Why do 0.0 people say Empire is safe space? If your 0.0 Corp get's wardecced you just **** your pants laughing whereas high sec has plenty of ganker corporations that just love wardeccing small and weak corporations.
Fact is that everyone wants something from the game and not everyone wants to follow the same path. So please all stop *****ing about which playstyle is the appropriate one in this game because all youar arguements from both sides are valid for some and invalid for others.
And there is absolutley no need to remove all chances on anything good dropping from missions just because "The top rewards should be in 0.0, not empire"
So get your head out of your ass and try to have a glimpse of imagination and a spark of understanding that people vary in playstyle but this should in no way exclude them from a good surprise drop at times.

Firstly i'd say chill out.
But now look at it, fair do's you'd like your rewards, for "minimum" fuss, which just isn't really going to happen.
You say missions are dull, and predictable, which tbh, means you know what you're going to get, they're easy. So why should they be on equal terms to rewards in 0.0. I've ratted in 0.0, i've had to stay aligned to a gate and crap myself anytime something appears in local.
Anyway, my point is, its unfair to expect greater rewards, with increased safety. Also it costs more to be in 0.0, not just losses, alliances have to keep pos'es fuelled, get stuff from empire to 0.0, it doesn't even out, and it shouldn't to be honest.
The fact is, if given the options:
- a random mission in 1.0 space for 5mil? ---or--- - a random mission in 0.0 space for 5mil?
Which would you take? now, increase the reward to 10mil for the 0.0 mission, would it be worth it? and then keep increasing it until you're willing to risk it, and then understand why theres greater chance of rewards in 0.0 ---

I finally got this mission yesterday, and was a little disappointed to find generic Trade Goods wrapped up in a pile of Metal Scraps.
At least there's about 6 million ISK in bounties in there. |
