I recently had 2 petitions responded 2 on 2 accounts.. Involving losses due to recent game server patch memory leaks. Now I have nerfed my game in every way humanly possible on my end.. I killed brackets, sounds, every graphic known to man so it looks like an atari game back in the 80's not some state of the art game of 2008... All these years I've expected and have had the usual lag deaths.. Results? Live and learn shrug it off get a new ship. Recently as we all have had the recent whole new set of problems.. tick tick tick.. hundreds and hundreds of megs of ram.. over a gig a times. Can clear the cache and restart client at the beginning it didnt help.
So finally.. Petition responses. the responses.. "we see no problems on our servers."
that may be ccp. A server may or may not be at 100 percent efficiency. The problems are obviously client side issues with your coding. You just released a code to tens of thousands of paying customers and the best you can do is not reimberse people and come up with this line of crap? If the muffler to my car was dragging down the road you people would open the hood to my car and say "oh your muffler looks great to me!"
I have since cancled all of my subscriptions to my account. I will not pay a company that continues these practices. I have been a paying customer for several years on 4 accounts. Not any longer.. Goodbye

I didn't have any real noticeable issues with memory leaks (oddly enough). I think I noticed the GUI a bit sluggish at times, but not often.
Maybe something else is going on with your system? It's always worth checking.

You knew there was a problem and you chose to take risks continuing normal practices and as such throw away any claim you have really.
Let me ask you this; If your car had a punctured tire, would you still continue driving it?. No? Would you wait until it is fixed and safe to use again? Yes? Then stop comparing eve to things it has nothing to do with.

Well technically they are right. The problem wasn't with the server but with the client on your end. This makes it your fault for using a client with a memory leak. Sure they created the client with the memory leak and gave you no choice but to use it, but that doesn't change the fact that the problem is on your end.

But i agree with the others, you knew there were problems with the clients, there were warnings from players and ccp all over the place to exercise caution, you ignored them and lost your ships. Your fault not ccp's

Don't listen to these loot-*****s. I agree with the OP that CCP and their standard "According to our logs..." replies really suck.
I'm not ready to quit yet, but almost. In the meantime, can I have your stuff? No really, I could use it. I've lost pretty much all my mods/ships to drops and CTDs and haven't had a petition come through for me. Sucks. I'm stubborn and am trying one last subscription cycle but that's it. So yeah, I could really use your stuff. Peace. |

Honestly guys! We are living in a digital era! Now we can have complaints vanish with a punch of a button! And that is without leaving any traces of paper or ash!
When it comes to our local sheriff, I was merely thinking about his... experience from this thread! What do they say? All experience is good experience!

I think instead of quitting, you should attempt to locate the problem. It is possible that its the memory leak, it is also possible thats its your kit. I would have tried it on a whizz-bang unit just to check.
You can appeal these petitions, don't be put off by CCPs customer service "rules", there are no rules. You can write to their MD if you want - it's your gaming thats gone wrong, and their PR thats suffers as a result.

Remember running logserver next time, and include screenshots. Submit it as a bug, then refer your petition to the bug. You may get your things refunded because you helped solve a bug that cost you your stuff. And if not, you get to feel good at least over helping solving a bug which cost you some pixels

CCP's customer service is a bit like a French $2 hooker. Cheap, sometimes effective, covered in too much perfume, and can be thrown away at any time. Their copy and paste messages are almost as good as CAOD posts.
If I had a Titan and lost it due to this whole memory leak, I'd really like to know wtf their standpoint on it since one of their so called pre-reqs are server logs which just happen to never show anything. Sounds like a time to get new logging tbfh and bad coding should be a pre-req too.

This. I hate their generic log messages. Most issues people have are due to client lag.
However, when it has been a server lag I have got my ships back. Heck I've had corp mates who lied about losing a ship to lag and got it back.
CCP don't seem to care as long as its PvE loss, not PvP.
