One method I've taught many is to change the way you run missions.
1. Run L4 missions as efficiently & strive to do it quickly 2. Run the next mission without stopping to loot/salvage 3. Repeat
I would estimate that on average, the worst mission gives you 10M isk payout plus bounties and bonuses. That's a very conservative estimate.
If you get your gank to improve, it is possible to finish many of these missions in 30 mins or less. The really experienced mission runners can knock off a few of these in an hour with their tested set up.
Aim to get 40M a day (10M x 4) and do it in 2 hrs or less. That's about 1.2bil a month minimum with good social skills and ship gank/tanking skills.
I find that if I run missions and salvage/loot, it takes me twice as long these days and not all missions are worth looting & salvaging. If you really need to gather all the salvage and loot, then hire a noob to do it for you as you continue mission running. Just make bookmarks and contract them.
To summarize: a. Keep the mission momentum going, don't stop to loot/salvage b. Restrain your spending. Most people are broke not because of lack of isk income, but because of their spending habits.
Those who have done the above 2, have found that they ended up with lots of isks after a month or so. If you know how to convert your LPs to isks, the loss in loot/salvage can be offset by the larger increase in LPs because you are knocking that many more missions now. That's not to mention Storyline missions also.
Anyway, that's not what I do for isks, but I did test the method out for an extended period of time to be sure that it works and have trained others to do that.
Many of my social & connection skills are at lvl 5 maxing out what I can get from the agents and after I got a good tank, everything else was geared towards maximizing dps output.
Personally, I've been trading ever since I was a 2 week old noob because I messed up on my initial character creation and ended up with a character that couldn't do decent mining or even launch drones so I couldn't run a mission for quite a while. So that was probably the best thing that ever happened because I was forced to learn to trade for a living, which is my primary source of isks.
Anyway, I'm sick of shooting NPCs and can barely bother to get into my mission running ship.
