No no, ISK = ISK if ISK is used to get ISK, but ISK can not be used to obtain ISK, unless ISK is used to get ISK in a non-intended manner, like ISK selling.
Which means, ISK = ISK unless ISK is ISK in which case ISK =/= ISK.
Now go "Oooh." and walk away
This really should have been the /thread, everyone else stfu |

Originally by: Baldour Ngarr If I pay in-game currency for my GTC, I have $35 still in my pocket that otherwise I'd have had to spend. Ergo, the in-game currency is worth $35, whether CCP say it is or not.
Indeed - or looking at it the other way around, if someone is will to part with $35 in order to get ISK via buying and then selling a GTC, the ISK clearly has RL value to that person.

Real world ISK doesn't have any real world value anymore, either.

There's a difference in cost and value.
A kidney is valuable, no matter if anyone buys it or not, it's a commodity(so to speak).
ISK, is internet space money, not even owned by the person who uses it to buy a GTC. As such, people are exchanging air for real life cash.
Just because it's intangible doesn't mean it lacks value. Value is a perception however you paint it, and therefore whether something 'really' exists is a moot point. Besides, your dollars are only worth the faith you have in them (hence the spending trends during a recession fueling the recession). Your piece of paper with one dollar written on it has no value of it's own, only it's potential comparison to the value of items that you can excahnge it for originating from a goods for goods barter system. The paper itself is worthless.
