yea, when they come. its fun thinking about them though.
Caldari Titan
Titan weapons. Railguns barely able to hit a BS. Used for stations/POS
12 high slots. 4 turret, 10 launcher. 8 Med slot 8 Low slot
CPU 2500 Grid 50000
Cargo Capacity, 6000 units. -100% ship capacity use per level. Balance ship usage later.. Titan can hold 3 battleships with max titan level, 10 cruisers or 30 frigates.
Shield - 25000 Capacitor - 20000 Speed - 40M/s
Drone Bay - 4000
Sensor Strength 25
im hoping they're big, powerful, slow, REQUIRE escorts anywhere (10% the agility of a BS). Requires 2 BS's to jam them. A frigate could attack a lone one without getting hurt (except for drones) but wouldn't do nearly enough damage to kill it. Weapons so strong they can take down a station in a matter of minutes.
Dont allow people to insure them, make them expensive and hard to fly (lv5 in frig, indy, cruiser and BS required?).
just a thought.. ________

They should cost a massive ammount of freight goods such as frozen food, electronic parts, just to maintain. Like the GTVA Colossus in Freespace 2, the way to be one would be a war of logistics in which supplies would be cut off.
They should, like the Eve Chronicle says, be unable to travel near inhabited planets or stations due to gravity disruptions. Smaller ships that fly close to one should get caught in the 'gravity wake'.
They should cost a stupidly massive and inherently unappealing amount of minerals to construct, and (obviously) only be constructed outside of stations, where they are visible and vulnerable.
/me imagines a Return of the Jedi desperate attempt at an incomplete titan but... omg! that thing's operational! ------------

You imagine titans as just another class above battleships... I see them as something above and beyond anything currently in EVE. I see them as large cumbersome beasts unable to use jumpgates or dock with stations. I see them wholly dependant upon jump drives for inter-stellar travel and a fleet of industrials for resupply. I see them as persistant vessles, which stay in game even if their pilot logs off. I see corporations organizing shifts to keep a proper pilot at the controls of the titan at all times. I see them as versitile yet inherantly weak... and I see anything less as a mistake.

I see titan as a Big ship a New ship a Rare ship which in EVE means a Big Target a New Target a Rare target.
Anyways only the big Corps/Alliances will be the first to have one and it will probaly be hunted down so i really think they would need insurance no point in spending 500 mill on something if 400 BS's are looking for it and the said corp end up losing 500 mill.
Though a Titan deploying 30 frigs would be a sweet site to see!

The titan on chaos had 500,000 shields when TomB was fooling around with it. BTW -100% ship capacity use would mean that you can fit an infinite amount of ships in the cargo bay

Personnaly I see the titan with the equivalent in shield of what a station has... As for mineral cost... Maybe a few hundred billion isk ?
Galaga (Galaxian - XIF corp) And yes, Olyyy is on our KOS list so she enjoys stirring the "flames" ( 2004.05.25 ) |

Errr aren't titans just basically bigger industrials? They aren't meant to fight as far as i know. _______________

Edited by: Barth3zzzNL on 11/07/2004 17:31:38 I would rather have my corps Titan AI controlled, corp leaders would simply be able to order it to go somewhere.
Basicly a mobile station that would allow us to travel around but not require the pilot to be online 24/7.
As for the huge railguns, a titan doesnt sound like an offensive weapon. It would be more logical to give it smaller guns allowing it to killing **** attacking it while it charges its jump drive to go to a diffrent system.
But then thats just me... ---------------------------
