Everyone of us has auto piloted into low-sec, lost a battlecruiser to a level 3, been blobbed in Blockade lvl 2 by frigates and not had the right weapons and/or tank; it happens. The ability to get past this is what will make you a better player (in MMOs in general) and a worthwhile endeavour for older players to teach you.
Svo.
Everyone of us has auto piloted into low-sec --- Never lost a battlecruiser to a level 3 - Never, only lost ships in PVP, not all mutaul PVP though been blobbed in Blockade lvl 2 by frigates and not had the right weapons and/or tank - Sadly Yes, but never lost my ship, think it was a caracal.. 2 years ago.. so can't remember what it was, it is probably still in a hangar somewhere :)
I almost gave up before my trial expired, then at least once every week for the next 3 months..

The missions get more interesting up to level four. When you grow bored of just normal missioning you can move onto the epic arcs or incursions for more tricky PVE. If you want information about the missions you're running check this website http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports if no one has linked it to you before it has information on most of the games missions. You may also want to check what ships and fittings are good for missions. A nice place to ask for help would be EVE University as well, they're great people who help many new players learn and move towards what they want to do in EVE. Thank you for the advice. I have checked up my mission using the link and it seems I am outta my league. Even though I have completed all other missions in my Desi the comments on this page suggest I use a fully loaded Rupture or Drake. The players also had 2m skill points and i only have 900,000. I have 21 days left on my sub. I haven't quit the game yet but it is looking likely i will. Thank you for that link. I ll use it before accepting any other level 2 quests from now on. I am gonna go mine Veld for a couple days so I can afford a ship and try this game one more time.
Mail me and I'll give you a Cruiser.
Other then that, this game is not here like WoW's community to get the "NERF IT'S TOO HARD". On the off chance it does happen, it's because the dev's have looked at peoples tries and failures vs their success rate and how they approached it. For example, there is a Recon mission that spans level 4 amounts of battleships and cruisers. However, it's not meant to be fought, it's about running as fast as possible to that gate to gtfo. People could complain to their hearts content that hey are unable to fight off of the ships to finish the missions. Or they try a new approach.
While your mission suggests a fighting approach, look through the fittings at www.battleclinic.com . You can solo that in a destroyer, it requires you to get creative however. |

Svo. I never AP'ed into lowsec! I read the warning messages! My friend however convinced me it would be a good idea to fly through Rancer in frigs... |

I'm glad you've got some help and some interest from newb friendly corps.
Eve is a harsh place to be and sadly just like any online community - Anonymity and a place to be seen/heard breeds Douchbaggery.

Ever think that maybe we treat new players this way because it is much easier for them than it was for us?
Thay have continually made it more accessible for new players. - Elimination of learning skills (shaves a month off skill training) - Cerebral Implant (speeds up skill training) - More Skill Points at the start (i had less than 90k skill points when i started) - Stop being a pansy. |

in game look up a toon named bunyip look at his bio for a list of the starter missions you can ran all the missions for each race. they can all be done in a dessi or a frigate.you will make 20-40 million doing them all you will also get 18 ships and 15 free skills including the salvage skill book. salvage is a very good way to make isk as a new pilot. after you get the starter missions done start the sisters of eve epic arc which is also listed in bunyips bio or at least linked from there iirc. the epic arc can also be done in a dessi or frig and will net you another 20 mill and 9 skill books and 3-4 ships. anyone with a new toon should do this to raise capital |

Cerebral implants are ungodly expensive for a brand new pilot, so they have absolutely no bearing on new players unless they dump cash into PLEX's to buy one. More skill points? When I started out in 2007 I had more than you start with now simply because you started with several level 5 skills based on which training path you chose.
Also to a couple post above, I only auto piloted into low-sec the one time (Old Man Star iirc) back before they had the warning. I came back to no ship and sitting in a station, I was a little confused. Fortunately by that time they had the prefer safer route on autopilot settings.
I love all the newbie hate from the forum trolls; I'm glad things were so easy for you when you started years ago; or that they were so hard for you and its "so easy now." It's easy now because you know what the eff you're doing now. Get over it. |
