The Sixth Alliance Tournament is finally on its way! And we're looking once again to recruit from the player base a team of experts/commentators to appear on the Eve Tv broadcast!
You'll be flown out to Reykjavik Iceland to join the team here at the CCP headquarters to help us run the show during the live broadcast of the final weekend. Flights (from all Icelandair destinations) and accommodation are supplied by us, all you need is a little spending money and several layers of coats!
So you're interested? Next step is to check this short list and make sure you match what we're looking for!
 Can you come out and play? Selected experts will need to hold a valid passport (proof will be required at a later stage) and be available to fly to Iceland for the tournament dates: Feb 5th - Feb 9th inclusive, as well as available to commentate live from their home on the non video broadcast qualifiers on the 24th, 25th, as well as the 31st of January and the 1st of February.
A sense of humour is a must: Experts will need to be sharp-witted, knowledgeable, presentable and comfortable with talking on camera and into a microphone. To greater the chances of getting through, we highly recommend submitting any pre-made or purpose built video you have of yourself (or a link to a YouTube clip) as part of your application.
You need to know your PvP: We don't despise industrialists, mission-runners and miners but as this is a PvP tournament, you need to be well versed.
You must be 21+ to apply: We've decided to adopt rules set down for the CSM and make the 21 the minimum age, this is for legal reasons (CCP nda), and to make sure the expert group is free to enter all the Reykjavik bars together :).
To apply, please email us at [email protected] by downtime on the 7th of December with the following information. Those lucky enough to be selected for the second round of eliminations must be available to attend voice chat interviews on the 14th of December. The chosen experts will be announced by the 19th of December.
 Character and Real name.
Date of birth.
Nationality and current country of residence.
Tell us about yourself, both in game and out. Remember what your applying for and sell yourself to that effect.
Confirm you are available on February 5,6,7,8 and 9th. If you need to book time off work / school please don't do it until we accept you but please check that it is possible, if there is any doubt here please let us know.
Remember your applying to be on Tv! Include any multimedia you think shows you off (audio, video clips)!
Remember applications close on the 7th of December! So get mailing!

Apologies that is something we missed. After consultation we have decided to set the minimum age to 21, matching the rules for the CSM. Like the CSM this means there is no legal issues with the age of majority varying from country to country and makes sure the whole group will be able to experience the Reykjavik bars together  . Our apologies to those affected by this.

So far some applications are missing real life information which is an important aspect, tell us what you do, what your hobbies are, its an important factor when we're trying to build a team that will get on well with each other both on screen and off.

I'm so tempted to apply only to be able to say "Poor bloke, the logs show nothing".
But then again I'd end up applying for a job at CCP as well something that wont combine to well with my Australian gf who even gets cold during our Dutch summers and then there would be the small matter of getting rid of my own company (love to see the looks of on their 12 faces when they get told they are laid off because the owner is moving to Iceland in order to go work for this game company).
On the plus side the Aussies and Kiwis would complain a lot less about DT since it would be structurally late by about 2 hours each day due to the entire sysadmin team be hungover too bad and coming in late.
And the logs? They wouldnt even exist; downsized for performance reasons. :D

DO NOT put that douchebag on that commentated during the Final match of the tournament (can't remember which tournament) and basically attempted to be funny the entire time and made almost no reference to the match that was going on! He unfortunately is a small sect of dudes here that will always "wannabe" but never,EVER, be from the "Hood".

We received 31 valid applications and have today trimmed that down to 13 who will join us this Sunday for an audio interview. Everyone who submitted an application should now have received an email with the results.
We look forward to talking to those who have made it to the next stage and we hope those who did not make it will submit their application again in the future.

Not sure if this is something I should be concerned about or not but....
Will the commentators see the video's of the first two weekends before the general public and if so will they see the first weekend before the second weekend's matches, etc.
Basically if so then KIA and any alliance affiliated with the other commentators (if there are any) will have a possiblyl significant intel advantage.
Is this a problem or am I tilting at windmills?

Huh, I guess my concern is KIA and any other alliance associated with the commentators will GET the extra intel from having their commentator see the video of all the fights to do their commentary work.

Yes, the commentators will be able to see it.
The whole purpose of this is to provide live coverage of the matches; the commentators will be talking and you will know what's going on via internets radio. The only difference is that the commentators will be able to see it, and if theyre doing their job well - which they will - it'll be just like being there anyway :)

Cheating wasn't the concern. The concern was certain teams being able to evaluate the builds of various teams in preperation for the next weekend, while other teams not having access to that information.
