Demand is being created by more and more people being skilled to fly capital ships... not to mention the new Orca builds. The game's population has already peaked. It may be a steady climb now, but there will not be a drastic increase with your game players again. Just my opinion... so when your Eve population continues to get stronger, and continues to need bigger and better ships and parts... the demand for more building materials is there... and TRITANIUM is the most sought after.
Simply increase the output of trit... from roids, loots, reprocessings... give 1/3 more trit... and bring Eve back to life.

EVE's economy always destabilizes after a patch introducing new thingies, such as ships like the Orca. Been around long enough, you learn to accept and anticipate that.

Maybe you are just missing out on the supply and demand side of things. The Tritanium prices are not all that horrible considering there are several large wars going on and the Orca introduction.
Hmm, you could raise your end product prices to cope OR maybe take less profit. There is plenty Trit out there if you can be bothered. Cheers, Ruf. |

Could it be, just possibly, you who is wrong here? Considering that we are maybe currently mining maybe 10% of the veldspar reserves in eve.
The higher the trit prices go, the better the miner profession looks, more people dust of their hulks and mine, supply exceeds demand, prices go down again, its really economics 101.

EVE economics is simple. Chribba supplies all the veldspar which supplies the trit which all of us destroy for no good reason other then we like things to go boom. If you want more trit get Chribba to mine more (maybe help him get that Avatar he is after so he can fit mining lasers to it).

Well, I haven't been watching the tri prices but they are higher then i last checked a few months ago. Which was nice when I refined a lot of stuff recently to move to a new area.
IF there is a shift in the supply end it might have to do with all of the subscriptions that ran out causing CCP to ask players why they were unsubbing. That could be a lot of tri and other low ends that would have been mined or refined out of mission loot.
Is that enough to increase the prices of low ends? Maybe but the Orca, without a doubt, has a thing to do with it. Before patches with new ships people start to horde minerals while others raise their prices to meet the increased demand come patch day.
The drone region release has caused me to believe that each patch will cause a fluctuation in the price of minerals. I used to mine but i noticed my profits were cut in half. That made low sec ores worth less then mining veldspar in empire. Thats when i turned to mission running, begrudgingly.

I totally agree. We need some sort of 'invisible hand' to exercise its will and bring balance to the tritanium market prices
(and also, the force)

No its not a double negative, but I do think it actually says the oposite of what the tool meant it to say.
I read that to actually mean that its amazing how many ppl play this game who do realize what is affecting the economics of Eve. -----------------------------------------------

Edited by: Hyveres on 26/11/2008 20:34:48 Edited by: Hyveres on 26/11/2008 20:30:31 Tbh I see no reason to increase supply, over time increased mineral prices determined by the market will make mining more profitable and make it a viable alternative to other methods of earning ISK.
This will lead to more people mining and increased supply. Supply and demand should determine prices , and once we reach a point where mining is more profitable than L4s we'll probably see more people mining and fewer people doing L4s :)
Unlike ratting and missionrunning mining does not generate ISK , it simply moves it between players via later trades :)

I especially like this part. If reprocessing stuff yields more trit, that means you need more trit to manufacture the stuff in the first place. Which puts us where we started, but with more trit to haul. Yay.

No I think he wants reprocessing to create free trit magically... I really do think so...
