I'm 38 and have been playing computer games since I was a young teenager and my brother bought a Dragon 32.
I expect to be playing mmo's, single player games bore me now, till the day I die.
What I find funny is how XBox Live, and the like, seem to give the impression they have invented online gaming. I remember modem to modem (9600 baud) Doom lagfests. ___________________________________________________ Serenity Prime Is Recruiting |

54 here too. If anyone has a recommendation for corporations that take geezers, I'm interested.
I started playing computer games on the TRS-80, and started on games with good old Avalon Hill.

There is a corporation named "The Old Farts". I considered it but they were on the other side of the galaxy from me so I didn't pursue it very far. I believe that they have their own public chat channel. I used to play Avalon Hill board games, too. I also played several other brands, "Strategic something or other", "Game Designers Workshop", etc.

I didn't know about that one. It looks fairly large, too. Also has its own chat channel and web site.

34 here....I am just a trial member so far but I think I will join. I was attracted initially by the 'mature' reputation of the players.

Wasn't it written several blogs ago that the average age of an Eve subscriber was 27?
Well, that's me. 27 here.
And yes, vet of Elite on the BBC B+, C64 and RISC OS.

Originally by: Rodge I definitely think Eve appeals to older or more mature players. The learning curve at the start is quite high and newer players can't do the really exciting things in their first few weeks of the game. I think this dissuades the 10 year old powergamers.
I entirely agree, that's a major part of why I like EVE. That, and if I get tired of it I can take a month off and train a long skill.

33. You'll find players of all ages in eve. However, in the case of our corp, the average player is:
1. American or Canadian 2. In his mid to late 30's 3. Married

With all of the 'older' players here (older than the typical target market for computer games), I have to ask a question that has probably been asked many times before I showed up:
How many people here played Elite on their Commodore 64s?
MMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEE !!! I loved it didn't like the remake in the 90's though it was boring i thought compared to the orignal
but they are making a online version so i hear
