Any improvements?
Lows - 4x T2 PDS
Med - 1x T2 AB 1x T2 LSE 1x T2 Invul 1x T2 EM Hardner 1x T2 Kin Heardner 1x Pithi B-Type Small Shield Booster
High - 1x T2 Medium NOS 4x T2 Missile Launcher (what ever you want) 1x Warp Disruption Field
Rigs - None :S
Solong as you can NOS something you can perma run the job lot.
Res - 75/89/92/73 Kin/Ther defence - 647dps
I know the setup could use rigs, but what rigs?! if i fit shield extenders I get alot bigger sig rad for only a couple extra k of shields.

OP - No mate :D Damage control is needed, aswell as MWD, and load up EFT. Search for the best mix of LSE, and hardeners. Usually, you want a photon, and the rest invulns. For each invuln you put on, put on an LSEII afterwards. Eg:
1 photon (THEN:) 1 invuln, 1 LSE. Or 2 invuln, 1 LSEII. Or 2 invuln, 2 LSE II. etc etc. Dont bother active tanking, let alone faction tanking an onyx.

I don't fly the thing, but I can see the attraction of nos. After all, there's no point in a dedicated tackler if it can't tackle. Similarly, adding an ECCM and smartbombs as drone defence sounds attractive.

Smartbombs maby, but you need your tank, if you jam something big people are gonna be on you fast. And teh onyx can jam everything regardless ^^. Jamming sucsk tho, I'd rather fill some lows with backup arrays if you expect to be jammed.

Onyx can do plenty, there is no be all end all setup. One setup I know of:

God good tank, it can not move much, but it can hold three targets down withing range, that leavs your gang to web and do damage. Dual EMP samrtbomb to kill drones.
After QR, do the Warp Disruption Field Generator I stop MWD as well?

In pure game mechanics maby, but it has no logic or reason behind it. if a 2 point can do it, and infinity point should have the same effect really, bu oh well.

It's not that 2 points can do it, but that the scrambler can. 2, 3, or 7x Disruptors won't do it.
The scrambler has a unique ability.

Well ships in game don't accelerate with their engines working so it is quite consistent :P

Sound in space is created by your onboard computer to aid situational awareness, as the background blurb states.
Slowing down is because the Eve universe is in treacle, not vacuum.
Lack of collision damage is just wrong...

Merin's is the correct setup for 0.0 IMO. I have 2, 1 for low sec and 1 for 0.0. Low sec only differs in that it has a higher recharge for tanking gate guns.

Thing with the onyx is that you will need a MWD no excuses on this tbh I got out of a 12 man hostile camp tonight because I had MWD if I had to slowboat to the gate I would have been webbed + bumped and killed even with a huge passive tank and you will need a sensor booster no excuses here either and sometimes even 1 sensor booster is not enough as it gives 498mm scan res with a T2 booster, scan res script and sig analysis V which due to the agility buff a lot of cruisers can get away.
You will also need to think about fitting a cap injector to able to maintain your point, this means you lose 3 of your mids to essential utility and a 3 slot passive tank is not looking very good so an active tank is a very plausible option considering the resists you can get on the Onyx.
No the tank wont be as good as a full passive tank but the passive tank precludes a lot of the necessary mods that allow it to carry out its role and survive.
