Thanks for the guide, I only found it today 
While I think there are other guides out there concerning the directional scanner, I actually refer starting carebears to this guide, so they actually learn what that strange thing does.
The overview part is probably also helpful to a lot of people (I didn't read it, overview settings give me a headache).
The pdf didn't include anything to being probed out, does the online version have some infos about getting a clue of being probed with the directional scanner?
Is there any reason to sit still in a safespot? Why not already align to another safe close to a celestial body and keep on moving? If you can perma run your mwd, it should provide a bit extra distance, in case someone does probe you out?
Don't warp to 0 or 100 to any celestial bodies, never warp to moons, if you don't know if there is a pos on the moon. Don't warp to the sun.
Perhaps mention ingrid warping, too? as in, as long as the distance to the fixed object is greater than 150km you can warp to it within the grid?
P.S.: I knew there was an Evelopedia... found it yesterday...
