It's a great guide, but if you have some specific criticisms, then now would be a good time to air them since Skira is working on some updates (I think). By all accounts, Skira is a cool person and would likely enjoy some suggestions.

Confirming that long cat is long, and that this guide should be stickied. I find it to be something of a double-standard, since there are other player guides that have their own stickies.

Maybe a hint to add on the guide, if fitted for a remote repping set up, warp in at the same range and stay within range of each other so you don't get your arses whooped in like 3 minutes

Hmm, for some reason the sticky is broke, maybe CCP should replace their forum moderation software, the last one did quite well. I can't believe such a valuable resource such as this guide isn't readily available, so much for the "new player experience" I guess.

i totally applaude you for the time and effort in this guide. coming for a new player looking into the pirate way this has been the biggest help and a bigger inspiration for continuing my path to the dark side. wish this forum would sticky this!!!!!!!!!!!!! if it hadnt been for this i prolly would have gone away from the pirate side and maybe even the game itself. HUGE THUMBS UP! look forward to the completion of the guide.

Slowly working on updates... its hard to manage real life, a PvP video production (don't expect too much, I'm a noob at video editing), managing the alliances big new recruitment drive, etc etc and write what basically amounts to a small manuscript of PvP revisions.
I mean usually people get 6+ months of dedicated work to write 60+ page research papers, right? *sigh*.

Very true, sounds like you have quite a bit on your plate at the moment.  Though, I'm sure that if you wanted some assistance people would gladly give you some of their time.
