Ok, so CCP has proven they can stick a node or two on one blade and get a nice fleet fight with upwards of 1000 people engaged without melting everything.
It is time to make the entire plane out of the black box.
Start adding more dedicated servers a few at a time to 0.0 until the place can handle anything.
The problem, I am sure, is financial resources. It would probably cost a fortune to start setting up eve the way it should be setup, but hey..
I know there are peolpe at CCP that want to start doing this.
Make it happen.
Thanks

CCP have never considered upgrading their entire server infrastructure or made a plan to do so. C/D?

You know making a plane out of whatever the 'black box' is made out of wouldn't work, right?
This post is about as helpful as suggesting making a plane out of a 'black box'.

What TQ is missing is dynamic load balancing. My understanding is that they're working on this.
Your suggestion is a total waste of money.

the reason we don't make the plane out of the black box is cause it'd be too heavy to fly

It is what needs to be done. The analogy is pretty poor though.
The technology exists to run these nodes snoothly, it is just a matter of money and some creativity perhaps.

It IS what needs to be done, and they're in the process of doing it right now. If you watch the video from fan fest you might be happy.

I believe that they've actually done it a couple of times since 2003.

this, then all they need to do is have a few more of these uber nodes, soon as a system starts to get full or load heavy, it load ballences to one of the new uber nodes and the fight continues mostly lag free (or at least less). Then everyone will be happy

What this gentleman said.
The game doesn't need a computer capable of running a 1000 person fleet fight in every system at the same time, it needs the ability to properly and dynamically allocate resources from sleepy systems to ones that are much more active on the fly. Which is what is coming.

ok I'll bight...
1) Material. No Engine currently operated can keep a plane made from hardened steel in the air.
2) Cost. Not ethical and explanes itself.
3) Impact. It makes NO Difference what the plane is made from. Kinetic energy of an impact would kill everyone on board anyway.
Finally, neon orange is a fugly color to be making planes in.

just an analogy and a poor one at that - everyone gets the point though, sorta

Have you ever looked at EVE's population distribution? A small percentage of the pilot population lives in 0.0, and most systems aren't under too much stress most of the time. CCP's current approach toward improving the only situation under which 0.0 experiences serious load - fleet fights - is balanced and cost-effective.
It would likely be wiser to put major trade hubs and high-traffic mission areas permanently on dedicated upgraded hardware before trying to migrate all of that empty 0.0 space to the "supernodes."
