How scary is that? Only twelve weeks. That's two sixty day GTCs. Anyone think CCP will make the March 10th deadline? How long after the patch do you think it will take before the first T3 ship is built?
I am in dire need of new toys to play with. Maybe CCP will put them on the test server in January. Lord knows they'll need the testing...

Not very. No. Less than 25 hours.
And yeah, they'll need testing for sure, with all those possible combinations

Time to start dropping isk into piggybank as they are going most likely insanely expensive for a while at first. Depends ofc how hard it's going to be get the materials and what amount and how SP intensive building time they will need.
So far we do not even know what size those ships are going to be.

I am hoping 2-4 months, while people discover the ingridients, the blueprints, get the correct drops, the right people get together with the right loot, and start producing.
Knowing game devs and their predispositon to make things easy so lesser players don't feel left out, I am thinking 1 week for the first part 2-3 weeks for a complete ship, 4 weeks until we have a steady trickle into the market.
/Riv
Fakeedit: Yeah, the lightheadedness(lol not word?) from FanFest is wearing off, and I am in the game dev business, and I know, how short 3 months is starting to be. EEP!

about 1 week before the first one is made about 4-8 weeks before we see any steady stream of t3 ships on the market

Dude, i thought you was playing eve long enough to know that when devs say "March 2009" they actually mean "by the end of 2009". Make that 9 or 10 sixty days GTCs.

Math fail! :D
EDIT: On second thought, that might be the math CCP sometimes plans deadlines on.

buy one...
i think when they explode, some of the major modular elements stay complete for you to scope and build one from loots....
but, yeah... if they make it make it for the march deadline! |

How do you know he isn't posting from a planet with a 550 day orbital period?

t3 == bad idea
it removes that thrill of knowing what each ship is up against, as well as the challenge of prioritizing said targets

yes the thrill of predictability. but theres more, its somthing about working with what you have, something about having to be clever with a set ship schematic and fitting it in a unique and creative way that will be lost.

Edited by: Crumplecorn on 02/12/2008 14:58:08 Not at all. Don't know, don't care. Don't know, don't care.
When you play EVE for long enough you learn to be happy with what you have. Devs could say T3 is off and I wouldn't care. When it is here in my hands (so to speak), then I will care.

I lol'd.
But then I actually started thinking about it.
I obviously do not know, but even if he was from such a planet, it would have no effect on our calendar.
Of course, CCP could have sneaky plans to move their HQ onto such a planet by turning Iceland into a massive spaceship. While that STILL wouldn't change the calendar they'd at least have a semi-believable argument for pushing back the deadline.

We're gonna need skills to fly these right? Do we get the skills before the ships are available? Or is there going to be a hiatus while all the skill train? Yea, though I wart through the valet of thy shadowy hut I will feed no norman. |

The ships will be divided up into FOTMs recognisable by look or possibly by UI info provided where the ship type should be. The fast one, the tough one, the DPS one... -
