I have a Raven for L4 mission running and have always used regular Cruise missiles for them.
Is it worth using Faction or T2 ammo in order to speed up the time it takes to do the mission?
What is the trade-off between isk/sec in bounty and ammo cost?
What you folks using?

I'm a projectile user so maybe not quite as relevant, but solely use faction ammo from the LP store.
Extra cost to me for 5000 rounds is (from memory) 2400LP's and 2,400,000isk (large ammo)
I only have 5Mill SP's so the extra ~15% damage comes in handy, LP's are covered in 1/3rd of a mission, isk by mish reward and time bonus - Using 8*1400mm 5000 rounds will last maybe 4 or 5 missions.
If we assume that the killing part of a mission takes 20-30 minutes then I'm only saving approx 20 minutes, but that 20 minutes could be enough time to start and finish another mission, therefore ammo pays for itself. :)
Less risk to you when doing more damage as well as an element of gank tank comes into play.
I see no reason not to use faction ammo........

Depends on your weapons really. Low RoF High Damage like arty there is little reason not to use faction. High RoF low damage like ACs, you are shooting yourself in the foot using faction. And of course on Marauders faction is categorically good. And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

I only use CN Scourge heavy missles in my Drake for lvl 3 missions. Ship damage bonus by the increase from the faction missiles makes huge difference. Can't say anything about other ammo types though.

Flew Level IV Sansha Blockade last night. Used about 1300 Standard Paradise Cruise Missiles. If I had used 1100 CN Paradise @ 1800 Isk ea, the additional cost would have been roughly 2M Isk.
IMO running missions for Isk and then needing to use faction ammo at market prices is counter-intuitive. Your skills, ship, and fittings should be able to do the mission with standard ammo. If not, one of the above three areas needs some work.
You burn up enough time going to and from station, salvaging, and sorting loot/salvage, the extra 2-5 minutes you may gain by using faction ammo is almost insignificant.
If you've got a mission that you are apprehensive about, then by all means lock and load the best you can get. Otherwise, leave the faction stuff for PvP, where any advantage at all may be crucial.

T2 ammo is cheaper and does more damage than faction. Use it if you can get cheap supply.

I only use faction ammo in my Marauders. Amarr Navy Multifrequency crystals from Tech II Tachyons on a properly fit Paladin can easily one volley BCs. Faction projectiles are also exceptionally good in the Vargur, with a proper setup. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

I agree with everyone else here, faction ammo if bought at an LP store, is almost always worth while. It's pretty cheap in the LP store and the added damage makes most missions go noticably faster. I would not recommend using it if bought off the market however.
T2 ammo has it's uses but it isn't the standard ammo used on missions. The penalties it gives are often more harmful than the added damage/range bonus. That said, in the right situation it can be a very handy thing to have on hand.

definately faction ammo from LP store.
As a PewPew amarrian i think my ammo comes the cheapest for i could run around a week 4-5 missions a day with one set of crystals. so around 25-30 missions depending on missions.,.. blockade sure takes more pew pew out of me than duo of death.. hehe Low skills and high standing IS a problem. |
