This has nothing to do with politics or such, I'd post the same message had things happened the other way around or involved other alliances/corps. This is imho far too serious to let in-game politics affect it. Very good points, and yet a lot of assumptions made. I think what it boils down to is the difference between roleplaying and friendship To clear a few things up. 1. Propehcy and I are good friends. 2. I did not ask him to quit the CA - this is something we discussed and he realized in his own mind that would have to eventually come down to a choice. In fact after I realized what he had done and how this was hurting him, I encouraged him to rethink the decision. Did I want him to stay out of the conflict? Yes. Could he do that while being part of CA? No. Duty and honour above all else are the characteristics that make Prop the great guy that he is. Did I tell him to leave CA or lose my friendship? No. 3. Its impossible to say that you can't mix in character and out of character friendships - lets take the war for example. People wouldnt be spewing OOC hate and fighting so furiously for an in-game win unless they were somehow personally attached to what they were doing. 4. As far as me "doing damage" - Last time I checked, Propehcy had a brain and a mind of his own and could make informed decisions. Believe me I know how long he agonized over this one. 5. I take this seriously as well. Friendship above gameplay. As it should be. People are more important than a game. 6. As far as me reciprocating, I have considered resigning from the NCA, and taking a neutral stance as well. I see it as a bit of a different situation. the NCA isnt out to destroy Curse, its out to smack down the PA... Curse got involved and upped the stakes. We dont make active raids into CA attempting to destroy their empire. Thats what they are doing to NCA. Im still in consideration on this point, so please dont think Propehcy has made a sacrifice I was unwilling to make myself - for friendships sake. After seeing the difficult situation this put him in I asked him to wait, but he had already made up his mind. Personally I'm about sick to death of all the OOC hate and venom spewed over this war. I think a lot of us have forgotten what this war is about, and gotten so much into the mudslinging that it ruins the gameplay for all. Myself included. I will add that if Propehcy wishes to rethink his decision and return to the CA, we will remain close friends regardless. I wont restrict his freedom to do so - even if I had the right to.
