I have a few lvl3 agients that I occasionaly take missions for
Two of them who are in the same station give me lots and lots and lots of consumer electronics, have over 15.000 units of those.
Another agient thinks I like data sheets so I have around 10.000 units from him.
Its basicly worthless, though on npc prices the consumer electronics is worth a few millions but so much hazzle to get them to the buyer. The data sheets are worth just about nothing.

Edited by: Sammira on 14/07/2004 10:54:19 Well, you have several avenues open to you from what I can see.
1)Haul them yourself to a buyer. often a long distance
2)Sell to a local pilot who has a buy order up close buy
3)Put them up for sale at a decent price. You got them as rewards, so they are "free" technically. If say you put up the goods at 50% of market price, you will doubtless get a trader like myself who is willing to travel, buy them and move them to another location for sale at a profit to both the seller and to the buyer.
Problem is, you have to have the goods at a price that will enduce people to buy your goods to sell on. Unless they area already heading in that direction without a cargo, the profit derived from the goods will determine who quickly your items sell.
What is your location, perhaps I can offer you a deal for your "worthless" items to your profit and mine.
I have just finished buying hydrogen batteries from a pilot which when sold will net me around 1.2 million profit from the single run of 15 jumps. I can make 500 thousand on the return leg. Both pilots whom i buy from make a good profit on the items they sell to me, and they spend only afew seconds to set-up the sale orders, rather than spending time hauling the goods looking for markets.
If more people did this perhaps I could make more profits, but as it is, it seems to be few people putting up these "worthless items" prefering to sell them themselves instead of working for their corporate agents.

lets look at those data sheets
I get perhaps 1000 of those per mission, average price in my region is around 25-30, I can quicksell them for 20, so thats only 20-30k extra per mission while cash bonus rewards tend to be somewhere around 100k.

Alternatively
Rather than just picking an agent at random and complaining about the bonus rewards you get. Try going on to the world of eve website and check out what the corperation supplies and what you therefore get as bonus rewards from time to time.
In each faction you can normally find a corp that supplies something of use with a little research.
They who shout the loudest normally have the least to say. |

Never had a crap reward, had some less valuable BONUSes sometimes, but with some effort even those bonuses where turned into nice iskies. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

You know if you posted what item you would like to buy and for what prices you might get more agent runners who would rather not haul all of their crap all over EVE. Then you could get more of a profit.

My current agent seems to have lost her interest in rockets and light missiles and has started to dump them all on me. I most have enough explosives by now to blow up a medium sized moon... But I have long ago learned not to care about mission rewards, I run missions for standings increase (to get acces to better R&D agents) and for implant rewards. Once you sell your first mem implant, you won't care about crap bonus rewards...

Some agent bonuses are worse than isk, some work out better. Picking an agent to maximise which side of the equation you fall is part of the fun.
AFAIK, there are only 2 rewards that are totally useless. They are:
1) Skill books for skills everybody has anyway (i.e. mining)
2) Endless multiple bpos for things like small ammo and basic modules that nobody uses.
The solution ? Give these items a reprocess value (like pirate logs) Even if it's only 1 zyd or something, it would at least give them some value, and an alternative to just trashing them and moving on.
Please feel free to let me know if I missed something.

I am tired of all these Fusion Reactors. Man they keep popping up in my hanger for a 2 jump courier mission. hehehehe Should I sell these. Nawww
What we should consider instead of finding what we dont want lets try something new.
What would be cool to have in regular agent rewards?
I would love some location tokens. It would be cool to get a few tokens that I could turn in to my agent and he would give me a locate.
I would like minerals.
I would like npc logs for thier enemies.
--------------------------
Garsh ma it soo cool killing people in there space thingies |

A very good point Citizen, but I feel that posting want-to-buy's in these areas of gal-net would be . . against the ISD rules from what i understand. And buy orders in the market section of gal-net tend to get buried so very very quickly.
A conundrum really. I could post a price list I am willing to buy at, but the odds of of it being seen are low. Whether people are willing to sell at those prices is another matter. I tend to scout region wide orders of items and take the choice larger sell orders i find en masse.
I will see what i can do to get around this to profit the agent mrunners and myself as a trader.

You can always put your bulk "rewards" up on escrow. I recently sold 196k or so of reports...albeit at a much lower price than the going price...but I did not have to haul them and they were just sitting around...way I see it, I made a decent profit and the hauler made a nice profit as well.
