Any responses to the new bug reporting page can go here.
I'm most interested in people that are having trouble getting the first page to come up. The sort of things I'd like to know in these cases are what browser you're using, if you're using the same account you're posting with to log in (please do) and what any security settings on cookies you've got.

All I get is:
The page cannot be found HTTP 404 - File not found
at this page: http://bugs.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp
(It has some variables at the end of the url, not on the url here)
Using IE6.
------------- Most tired of thing atm: - Mods on the forum saying: "Please use the bug report page to submit bugs, the forum is not the place to post them." and then closing a topic. |

ah. this one appears to be a fun byproduct of something in the myeve login. I suggest, instead of clicking my link above (I'll remove it), go to Eve insider and click bug reporting there.

I've run through most of the obvious things with some of the other people that are getting the redirect looping. It's probably not the browser (happening for a number of people on a number of browsers, and indeed the same people on a number of browsers). I'm inclinded to believe therefore that it's not javascript, as I think one of the login pages uses javascript to redirect. It's also not anything obvious in an account, since one of the people I asked had tried on two accounts.
Still looking into it then, I'll be trawling through that code later today after a few other things on my todo list get done.

I'm closing in on the cause of this.
Update: I've found the cause. The people being affected by the infinite redirect loop by this have very very naughty isps.
Update2: I've found a cause. There seems to be another indeterminate problem. will add some logging.

Unable to reach the bug submit page.
I receive a "The page cannot be displayed" response. I also get several warnings. Going unsecure, going secure, going unsecure and then nothing.
Doesn't work from Eve Insider or from link in forum. |

I'm looking at this problem today. The changes I made before to try and catch infinite looping caused it, but only for people who loop anyway. Since it didn't break anything for people who weren't broken anyway, it had to take a back seat to some higher priority stuff. I don't currently know what's causing the root problem of the remaining people affected by infinite redirecting, but hopefully I'll get some more clues as I fix my error catching.

Overdue update.
There's been a number of people having problems with logging in. Problem number one was ISPs that mask their users real IP addresses with 'fake' ones, the worst offender of this I've tracked back to NTL (a cable provider in the UK). I've put in a fix that deals with this, allowing NTL users to submit bugs while I talk to them about what we can do about it and investigate some more.
Second problem was with some older code we were reusing that had an issue with character names containing the ' character. The problem was initially masked by having very similar end-symptoms to the above problem, but became pretty obvious after I put the fix for that in.
There are indications that there may be some more users who have problems logging in. If you're still having a problem after the date of this post, post in this thread and let me know as many of the symptoms as you can.

Edit : I don't seem to be able to reproduce it, so it was probably nothing...

Dont know if you knwo about this, but its happened several times to me since it came out and finally this last occurance has sent me over.
Mobile Warp Disruptors.
They are bugged. they knock people out of warp at the incorrect ranges. What is that we have to do to get this fixed, have everyone stop playing the game?
This has been happening since the mobile warp disruptors have been introduced. Can we get any idea when this will get fixed?

Edited by: Scorpyn on 09/10/2004 13:46:11 When trying to submit a bug report, I get the following error message :
Quote:
Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'
Script timed out
/subbug.asp
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.
It started when I was logged in too long so it timed out and then tried to submit a bug report while I wasn't logged on anymore, but it hasn't helped to login again and I have restarted my computer and stuff since then.
Note that it didn't help to clear the cache and stuff either (Firefox : Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Clear All)
Also, I'm not sure whether it's by design or not, but when I'm submitting a bug report I have to login again even if I'm already logged on (EVE Insider -> login -> submit bug report -> login again -> submit bug report page). I get this every time now, not just once as I said in my previous post.

Getting the bugreport page to suggest the most recent build for Shiva would be nice. I'd already entered 4 seperate bugs when I noticed the Shiva version number not being on the most recent build.
My mistake ofcourse, but one that could have been easily prevented. In fact, people won't want to enter reports of other versions very often, unless they are entering old bugs from a private listing, in which case they might as well check if the problem hasn't been fixed already...
Greetings, Grismar.

I have a big problem, which I can not solve!:-( Since the new exodus patch EVE has a major problem at least on my computer! SO MUCH SO THAT I AM ALMOST WILLING TO GIVE UP ON EVE AND MOVE TO GRENEER PASTURES! Basicaly after the first Exodus screen when I get the login screen there is a big problem! All the text is in one place.. the rest of the screen is BLACK!!! And some thin lines here and there... All other programs are working fine, I tested them, except for eve.! The problem first started about 20 minutes after I installed the first exodus patch, I was fiting my ship in a station when all the menues disapeared, all text was in one tiny spot, and the graphics was wierd. So I quit the game and when I tried to log in I had the problem explained above! If I uninstall EVE completly and instal it again it works for 2 or 3 log ins then agan the login page crashes! So if anypne can help me please send your thoughts at [email protected]
