Edited by: sexyforu on 08/12/2008 06:01:06 One of my friends was mining in a 0.6 system when all of a sudden 4 -10.0 pilots came in and locked him killed him and 2 and a half minutes later killed his pod and concord never even showed up....!!!!
Is there an exploit i don't know about?
How can they warp in kill, pod and leave alive.

Welcome to EVE.
Most likely the Orca trick.

Ok, that sounds like the Orca trick, where a person in an orca drops some ships in a safespot, the -10 outlaw folks warp there in their pods, hop in their ships and go straight to where the target is, lock, shoot and then boom, CONCORD will kill them. You say that CONCORD didn't come and kill them so either they warped off quickly and then got killed or youre mistaken.

Basically you use the Orca like a mini-carrier.
Put ships into the hangar. Gang flies to system in pods (empire navies do not pod-kill) Gang gets ships out of hangar and warps to target.
You can also do the same thing by having an alt deliver the ship, but the Orca makes it easier.

It's always possible that someone has found an exploit, however I think it's more probable that the agressors killed your guy and then warped out immediately, once they drop out of warp CONCORD would be en-route to wtfbbqpwn their ass.

Why bait trolls to a troll thread? :|
Sounds like Orca trick or simply pre-assembled mini-force for the task to me too. ---

Why was your friend sitting there two and a half minutes after his ship died? Macro doesn't warp on ship destruction?

This "Orca bombing" has been discussed earlier as well.
As they said above, an Orca pilot with neutral/good standing flies the ships to a safespot in a predesignated high-sec system where there are miners in preferrably expensive ships (Hulks for instance, there's a post already about a guy losing 2 Hulks and 300 mill in implants from this "trick").
Once there, the -10 sec people who don't really care if they lose standing from Concord blowing up their ships, can use the Ship Maintenance Bay on the Orca to pull out their ships, then warp as a gang together to the belt, blow up the miners they find, then either warp off, or get concorded.
Then a hauler alt/corp member who is neutral flies in with an indy or similar and just loots all the wrecks.
Simple, efficient and adds some spice to high-sec mining lol. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

Protip: don't need an orca to suicide-gank hulks. (yeah okay it makes it kinda easier)
as for CONCORD not showing, I'm sure you're mistaken, or they're just dastardly good at aligning out while violencing your boat. [center]

You don't need an Orca. But you do need evasive maneuvering trained up at least somewhat.
