- Taken from a quote in the corp description of Silentium Mortalitas.
Well I'm not one to usually post this stuff, but i found this quite funny, was looking for a fight just the other day before bed and ran into these guys;
After asking for a 1v1 (Clearly stated in local) me and the target pilot went at it and just before his demise his corpies warped in to get me, not bitter or anything since i managed to get the hell out before they could get a lock but thats not the point.
It's a shame to see so many people willing to dishonor ransoms and 1v1's and yes i realize this is a game but imo it really does ruin it for everyone and all for some cheap 'lulz' their CEO was in system and aware of these goings on and after reading their corp description well i just couldn't resist.
So for anyone looking for fights here is another group of people to be aware of for being 'dishonorable'.

OP has a point.
There are so often a lot of carebear pirates crying about people not paying ransoms and self destructing instead of being killed. Well, until the 'honourable' among you police your own ranks, don't expect the victims to trust your claims of honouring ransoms and 1v1's.

as they killed one of their own "allies" of like 4 or 5 months
and it was his last ship, and he had no isk left, i felt so sorry, i bought him a new rupture

I guess you missed the part where he said he killed the guy and got away before the rest could gank him.
Or perhaps you mean tears of laughter?

Always expect a 1v1 to be dishonored and be positively surprised if someone keeps his word.
Remember those who treated you with honor and come back to fight them again. Remember those honorless bastards who don't and bring an overwhelming force waiting in the next system to feed them their own medicine.

It always amazes me that whenever anyone does the PvP community a favor by helping to identify which corporations don't honor 1v1's, there's a knee-jerk "lol tears" response. The OP not only didn't lose, he actually claimed to find humor in the situation--and two out of four of the next responses respond as though he was whining.
Breaking 1v1's is lame. Breaking 1v1's means it's harder for pilots who enjoy consensual PvP to find 1v1's. There is a community of pilots and corporations that has an interest in knowing which pilots and corporations do and don't honor 1v1's, ransoms, etc. Those pilots and corporations have just added Silentium Mortalitas to a list of people to treat with the disdain they ask for--a request they are apparently happy to ask in actions rather than words.

Oddly, it's the 1:1 breakers who seem to whine the loudest when they get counter-blobbed.
Something to do with character, I guess.
It's funny how many people misinterpret the fact that you're free to behave badly to be some kind of moral imperitive to do so. But the fact is that people do remember, actions do have consequences, and a reputation for keeping your word is valuable, even if you're a pirate. Especially if you're a pirate.

I know many people are jerks and use cheap tricks like building trust and then backstab. But us people have to trust someone at some point. If your a paranoid sociopath not able to trust anyone, how can u ever make any friends?

Now i actually expected this to come up, i thought i made it clear in the OP but i guess not, now i can understand your reasoning behind this supposed 'Action' but don't think it is just reasoning due to a vital flaw
Originally by: Nai Orion me and the target pilot went at it and just before his demise his corpies warped in to get me
your corpies, believe it or not came in just before you died, perfect time before i could have escaped however i was practically aligned out already and knowing i could return my drones to bay even after warping (yay) i just bailed as fast as i could.
Even in local one of your corp members pointed out they asked you to call when you were in trouble, this is actually not honoring the 1v1 as you called for help before the fight was over, am i wrong? call your corpie a liar.

Be having words with you later
I see peoples rush to just warrior these forums instead of give more constructive feed back, what else to expect from a group mostly aspiring to be Garmon, but sadly lacking the funny side of their posts using out dated humor.
But anyway not what this thread is for, last i think i need to add to the subject, i did what i came to do and that was to inform others of this corp being perhaps not so trustworthy
Thanks

I enjoy the tears of others. I see no tears in the OP. "Not bitter or anything." And a lot of you are being tools about this. I like to go out solo roaming, I enjoy the occasional 1v1 I come across.
Nai is just informing the community. It's an FYI, not a WHINEWHINEWHINE.
1v1s are all about risk. The risk of losing your ship, the risk of getting ganked, and the rewards can be worth nothing more than a KM at times.
What does that say about 1v1 risk/reward ratio? He managed to get away, so either he was paying attention to his scanner, watching local, aligned, or he got lucky and they were too far to point him. Either way he got away before he could be ganked. I feel credit is due to him for escaping a gank.
As the OP said, this post is not a whine, it is merely a warning for those that do 1v1 and pay attention to these red flagged 1v1 threads. Reread the title. "Let our actions speak for themselves."
*FAKE EDIT* Hell...if anyone of you calling this a whine would think about it, you can just use it as INTEL, get a gang together, and sucker them into a 1v1...let their group warp to the target to gank him, then jump your boys in. (black ops anyone?)
So please keep the "OMG I LUB CAREBEAR TEARZZZ!!!111!!!" in the right threads 'mkay?

This.
Incidentally, Silentium Mortalitas, mentioned in the OP, has been heard complaining on certain locals about how we blobbed them in our war with them.
And yes, we did blob them, and it was sweet. Sue us.

People like you are exactly why I support maximum freedom of action in EvE. That freedom allows you to play the game as you like, of course, but more importantly it allows me to know for sure what kind of person you are.

People like him are usually always the first to cry "waah unfair!!111eleven!" when other people choose to spend their time killing him.
I cannot begin to tell you in how many conversations I have been that go like this:
Them: "WTF? y u blob me?" Me: "You are a pirate [thief/griefer/whatever] and my alliance spends some of our time hunting such. Nothing personal." Them: "Boo! I pays for tis gaem and u cannot tells me not to pye-rat." Me: "I didn't, I just told you I might blob and shoot you if you do." Them: "u is unfair! i can do whatever i lieks in EVE!" Me: "Chill, mate, I agree - but so can I."
There is always bigger fish.

Edited by: Dun Bynar on 10/12/2008 13:19:35 1v1 .......cannot believe people dishonor it. But then again if reading here is any indication of the integrity that abounds ..I should be surprised it is honored at all. I think Ill call this new style of play GARMONISM. Garmonism: a complete lack of gaming skill, coupled with low personal integrity.
A system of morality which is based on relative emotional values is a mere illusion, a thoroughly vulgar conception which has nothing sound in it and nothing true. |

Someone in Jita asked for my full offline identity the other night and I duly obliged.
I mean I know I can trust everyone on Eve, even strangers, especially with my credit card details.
I just knew we would get the 10 billion isk out of that Amarr savings bank and I'd get the 10% he promised for helping him. I had to help especially after his father the king of Amarr was killed in a coup and left 24 starving children.

Just out of curiosity, maybe the statement "let our actions speak for themselves" & dishonoring 1v1's go hand in hand? I mean if you want to be known for wickedness and a lack of ethics then dishonoring 1v1's would certainly be a component of that. I mean it's possible there are corps out there who want the most negative reputation they can get.
