2 LARS will repair more, but an LAR and a MAR will be more cap-stable, and you then can fit a T2 Disruptor and a Tracking Link. I guess my question is, which ship do you thnik will last longer? Which will run out of cap first?

I'm not crazy about the 2nd one, especially the tracking link ... lol probably you meant tracking comp ?
Edit: Cap is tricky on these. I think the first would last longer. The 2nd would die half full of cap.
Edit 2: I would ditch the cap rig for an armor rig too.

Neither. For me, the single rep Ion Hyperion is the way to go, with or without slaves. It's very skill intensive, but in the end will outlast a dual rep setup.

For pvp i like this setup, small gang only:
8x Ion II
1x 100mn Mwd II 1x Heavy Cap Injector II 1x Warp Scrambler II 1x Web II 1x Magneto ECCM
1x LAR II 1x 1600mm RTP 1x Damage Control II 1x EANM II 2x MagStab II
3x Trimark
2x Ogre II 2x Hammerhead II 1x Hobgoblin II 5x Light ECM
1050m/s+ with overloaded mwd. Or take the easy way, train up lasers and get into a amarr boat like everyone else (or fit lasers on a mega, makes pretty nice setup :P)

You're right, I did. However, now that Itry to fix that, the Tracking Comp doesn't fit. Not enough CPU. : /

If you cant make it fit, try a 2nd web. With weak webs now its not wasted and will also help your tracking by pushing your target's breaks for them.

That's a good idea.

Can you explain that further? I definately want to use this ship as effectively as possible.

Well, it comes down to a few things. To run a dual rep setup effectively, you have to drop your magstab, or gimp your resistances. Neither is acceptable IMHO. As I said, the single rep setup is very skill intensive, but it allows you to drop one of those extra injectors for a 2nd web, sensor booster, ECCM - ALL of which you will need at some point. Also, when you run out of cap, you will die - quickly. And, you'll run out of cap before my single rep Hyperion runs out of armor/hull.
Right now I fit 3 trimarks. It gives me what amounts to the best of both worlds: I have a bonused repairer that basically just adds hitpoints during a battle. With my current setup, it's kind of a buffer/active hybrid. I know that seems kind of bad...but it works. Now, I will be the first to admit that with a HG Slave Set, for example, you can drop those trimarks and go with 2 rep time and 1 rep cycle rig, and then you're really cooking.
This setup used to be a solo killing machine, but it is not anymore now that QR has launched. So keep it in a gang. Hope this helps. All just my opinion of course.

this is the setup I always used.
6x Ion 2 2x Electron 2
Mwd/point/web/cap booster/eccm
LARx2/DC2/2x EANM 2/Mag stab
4x Ogre 2
IMO, resist rigs>aux nano pumps. I think mine was either Exp/Exp/therm(or maybe kin) or exp/therm/kin

Sure.
8 Ion IIs
Standard mids, with a 2nd web, ECCM, or Sensor booster
DCU II, Large Rep II, 2x EANM II, 1600mm RT plate, MFS II
3x Trimarks
With Slaves, you can drop the trimarks and go for 2x ANP and 1 Nanobot Accelerator, but I'd also be tempted to keep the trimarks and just see how it does with a boatload of static HP.
BS 5 is a must.

Yeah your setup is good, better for general use than a dual LAR.
But in my experience, the dual LARs with rep rigs can tank quite a bit. With only eanms and a dc in lows I could outlast most stuff, taking a little while before cap is a prob for the 2nd rep.
What I mean is as long as both reps are running, pretty much all the dps your doing is tanked, while you tank less than half what im shooting at you during all the fight.

That makes sense. But if your opponent has a HG Slave Set and my setup, you're in trouble. That said, I'm not going and looking for 1 on 1 fights with Hyperion pilots much older than me. In fact, I'd rarely go after another PVP pilot in a battleship that's significantly older than me. It's just bad business, no?

Hmm yeah, HG slaves would screw me good probably. Would probably have cap problems too early.
The not looking for 1 vs 1 hyperion pilots older than you answered my question also, hehe.

Without max skills in a given ship, that rule of thumb seems pretty obvious to me. When my Hyperion and its support skills are all 5x5, I'll take on older pilots. But show me a pilot that doesn't follow that rule, and I'll show you all of his loss mails.

Yeah, especially with BSes. Fighting in these is not really forgiving and is also pretty static, relying more in raw firepower and thougness than fancy manoeuvers. Well, you still can screw yourself with a bad manoeuver, but unlikely to gain a edge with good manoeuvers.
Hope im spelling manoeuver right.

You can drop the med cap booster for a tracking comp/ecm/web depending on your tastes, but then its not cap stable.....

Yeah ... they where blobbers in 0.0 who wouldnt do anything agaisnt our 3-4 man gang without being 8-10. One day we got tired and just engaged them at their station. Almost took one out ... But they kept logging in and undocking more to end up with at least twice more BS than us. We lost two or three BS but at least we got to fight.
