For years on end we have watched the eve world change. New Alliances form and head out to null sec to try conquer it, yet we always see the same few alliances dominate. These alliances, almost household names amongst EvE players are about to meet there most dangerous foe.
EvEWho shows they are the faster growing corporations over the past 2 weeks. Though the haven't formed a Alliance yet, its only a matter of time before they do.
I am of course talking about... The Japanese
Japanese corporations are growing in vast numbers since the release of the Japanese client. Sure there were plenty of Japan players before hand but now with a dedicated Japanese client, it has become easier for more to play.
I think this is fantastic news, first it brings more players to this amazing game, something we should all be happy about but what about the Japanese are gamers themselves? Gaming is dug into Japanese culture more then anywhere else in the world. We always hear crazy stories about WoW gold farming factories etc. So how does this effect EvE?
Well the major Alliances won't outright say it because, well quite frankly their very territorial and all claim to be the biggest thing since sliced bread but give it a year or two, which yes is a long time but not really when you're referring to EvE, and these Japanese corporations will make a move for null. Sure its a long way off but I foresee in the future of EvE a radical change of the null sec map.
Could the US Alliances band together to counter the Asian players?
I'm sure plenty of you think I'm just stirring trouble but you can't deny the facts. 4 of the 10 largest growing corporations of this week are Japanese, sure its only 4 but thats still a lot of players. Only takes time before a Alliance pops up. Knowing the Japanese they've probably amassed billions in isk from crazy hours of mining etc.
Anyway I just thought that was interesting and wanted to you see the forums make of it? Good job CCP on a Japanese client anyway, was long overdue. |

"OMG! WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!?!?" "I don't know, but they are losers." "Not sure, they might have potentional"
But in Hollywood movie scripts, the underdogs always win. In reality, we know nothing and being that these guys may have nothing to start with vs established Alliances with: Cap fleets, Moon Goo, people with fleet experience, allies to draw upon...japanese got nothing but a different time zone and a language barrier that makes it difficult to infiltrate upon (both into japanese and non-japanese player corps) plus many of them will be years behind what the other estabilished alliances have.
So who really cares. Map will probably not change, goons haven't change in the last two years and at best...they just got more asshat immature |

Just a quick note. Japanese are not a big problem as far as gold farming is concerned. That is typically the Chinese and Koreans, but certainly not limited to just them. The Japan gaming culture is more "hardcore" and in depth as far as games go. Which is why EVE is a perfect fit for many of them and you will see a larger increase in the coming months of Japanese gamers in EVE. I've lived in Japan for 13 years. Dishonesty and shady tactics may trip some of them up at first, but they are steady, patient, and persistant and will get whatever they go after eventually. Should be interesting. |

China is the mine gold Farming country where Prison wardens would Force inmates to farm gold so they can RMT trade it http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/25/china-prisoners-internet-gaming-scam And China has the Boot camps for kids who are addicted to games
Korea has a curfew on games for certain ages and you need a SSN to sign up for Wow and Aion
I have never heard of Crazy Japanese players and the little interaction I have had with them they seem normal.
There is a culture difference discussed here http://au.gamespot.com/news/pax-07-japanese-gaming-culture-101-6177668 but please don't lump all of asia into the "LOL you guys play games till you die of starvation"

Eh? The Japanese have arrived? Does this mean that the NeX store is (finally!) going to carry Sailor Moon outfits and the character creator's 'Body Modifications' section will have a tentacles option?

Little or no research? Troll elsewhere.
