According to the Shader Model 3.0 checker provided by CCP, my laptop supports the premium client and the client let me install the premium graphics however when enabled all ships and station exteriors go rainbow colored on me. Station internal environments render fine but even docked my ship is a rainbow. Don't know if this is fixable but I sure hope so because premium is very shiny, and I like shiny.
Pertinent computer info. ( I know it sucks but it's all I've got for the foreseeable future. )

Updating DirectX to the November update and changing color settings to the lowest available has done this to my graphics issue.

Still all funky colored.

what kind of FPS are u getting in premium? i barely get 15 fps on classic mode.. we have the same intel chipset. i thought that was an integrated graphics card/system? I too have the option to download premium but am wary.

I actually get about the same FPS as I did with the classic client, it drops in station with the models of higher poly ships such as the megathron hull down to around 8-10. In space I get 13-15 fps same as classic gave me.

Freakin' Ay. I've been dealing with the same issue on my 1525 since I got Eve. Eve says my card is supported for Premium and lets me get the content. But when I use it, all of my foreground content is all pixellated and unrecognizable. I've been content using Classic on my Dell 1525, and its been totally stable.
With all of the recent discussion of Eve dropping Shader 2.0 and the wiki saying that the Intel X3100 will support Shader 4.0, and Eve posting in the DEV forum that considerations are being made for Intel GMA, I figured Dell would at least be able to provide the latest Intel drivers from just last month. The chipset drivers Dell provides are now a year old. I was starting to get ****ed off at the fact that installing direct from Intel was thwarted by my machine saying Dell does not approve.
Thanks for posting your resolution. I'm going to give this a shot.

Success!! The above workaround works great! I have the latest and greatest Intel drivers for the X3100 and Dell had nothing to do with it.
The mining lasers pulsate. The docking station has depth. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!!
If any other users need to perform the registry edit, just make sure you backup the registry before you edit anything.
Thanks again!
