Has anyone else rescheduled outside events because of arbitrary EVE training finishing times. i.e. reschedule a dinner date so that it works out that you will be online when XXXX skill finishes training.
I know skill queuing is contentions issue... The idea of players advancing without ever playing is wrong. The compromise I propose is skill queuing with a 24 hour cap... I.e. seting skill training queues but only for the next 24 hours.
This wouldn't affect how MUCH I play Eve, but it would allow me to play WHEN I wanted to, instead of disrupting my normal life to accomodate whatever time of the day happens to coincide with the end of a skill training regime.

LOL...yes, I bring Laptop to work so I can log in at work to change my skill training....
Yes...I regulary skip many things...or start new training, so i don't loose time on skill training....
Many ways have been proposed for 'queing' training...but it semms CCP is holding firm on this...

The real problem comes when you are training a new alt and all of their skills are short trainers. Once you get past a certain stage though there will always be some useful long-trainer that you can set aside as your strategic no-time-waster. Of course there will always be situations where you have a skill set to finish at 6pm and you have to stay at work until 9...I guess I need a lap-top after all :(

When you have more SP, you have lots of skills to train to lvl4 or 5 and therefore don't need to log on that much. In the beginning, when its lots of skills to train to lvl1, 2 or 3, its a lot of work though, if you don't want to loose SP, yes.
Remember though that you can switch training without loosing SP. So if a skill would end at a time where you won't be there, start another skill before logging off and then continue with the skill you wanted to complete once it suits you better.

i constantly used to have to change to skills i would prefer not to have to train because of their longer training times due to rl. u have to have priorities but finally now that i have 4.5 million sp i can choose what i want and it usually takes days to finish so i just take note of that so i can be back online. However i would love a skill auto trainer but a 1 day limit sounds good as if you could add 10 skills that could be six months training if all at level five and they could log and come back on six months later with 5 million sp more than before... doesnt sound good tbh Your Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I perfectly strikes Sansha's Tyrant, wrecking for 1589.6 damage. That, and remember what you have training lol, once lost 6 days of training on my 2nd acount cause I thought I had a really long one training when in truth I was working up a low lvl one. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

I'm strategic, definitely. No time is wasted, and at the moment I've got a lot of long training skills within 6 hours of completion. That's too short for me to set over night, and too long for me to do while online. 6 hours seems to be the kinda stuck period, where I have to rearrange my life to accomodate.

yes and also get your drones to auto mine for you and auto haul and refine for you. Oh and have everyone get all the SP training time they might have skipped oh oh oh and make it uber fast to get 5 billion skillpoints...
noobcake not everyone has time to login to switch all the small skills thats why we plan properly and set long skills when we cant play and then short skills while we are playing. But no that would be too hard u need somebody to do everything for you and think for you. We were all born with brains well excluding FA members but anyways the point is think before u suggest something stupid. =This podding has been brought to you by Odet, the only way to fry.= |

Train it for a couple of hours while you're online, then switch to another one during the night, do the same thing the next evening. Getting that skill a day l8r doesn't matter at all. Shortest thing I've got lined up to train takes 5 days, longest takes 50, and after 9 months I still got loads of things I would like to have trained now ;) ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Sorry but Eve has the best skill training system compared to other mmorpg's, just be glad they didn't make it so you only learn when your online. Though if that was true I suspect no-one would ever disconnect... I'm already an addict as it is. -----------

Wrong? It's very much a grey area imo, once you became a vet (and bought the T-shirt), training a level 5 skill to level 5 arguably puts you in the same category as someone who wants to chain-skill half a dozen low level skills. One is legit, the other causes some players to have kittens. CCP still get their money, and the game goes on regardless. I really don't see what the fuss is about. *cups fist* - bring it!
Perhaps vets with more than 100 skills at lvl 4 + above should be allowed to chain-skills, leaving n00bs to work their way up and earn the right to do the same.

i left for work at 5.30am forgetting i had a skill finish at 4.15am, im at work without access to a pc that could run eve and its driving me insane, as im typing this im speaking to my wife who is on holiday and telling her how to train a skill for me, she was still in bad and has no sense of humour over my anxiety over lost skill time, real life is a hinderence i can do with out, except for feeding, f*cking, footbal, and falling down drunk, that list is not in order of prefernece btw
I picked up this ace book today everyone rates it as a must buy for the budding military genius, tho ive decided to rename it as "Sun Tzu's art of the bloody obvious" |
