So last night I was semi afk mining in my Hulk and I noticed two low sec status people from The Final Stand in system, I was a bit worried but decided to ignore it. Anyway 10-15 mins later I see my overview lightup with ships from the rest of their corpmates and my Hulk loses its whole shield and nearly all of its armour. The idiots used the Orca trick to try to gank me and they couldn't even kill the paper thin Hulk.
I got lucky actually but this is still a big problem, CCP needs to make a statement on whether this is an exploit or not. It makes mining more interesting sure but its still an annoyance.

That's exactly how it should work. It's not exploit.

Suicide ganking is not an exploit. Avoiding the CONCORD consequences of a high-sec kill is. This is very clear from CCP. Unless they say otherwise, I cannot see how the Orca would change the fact at all - the same "trick" existed before and still does for those too poor to get one. All you need to do is have an alt eject a bunch of ships to a SS.

Easiest way to deal with this is to have your own alt call in concord prematurely.
Everytime I see people with really low sec in local. I bring an alt in a noob ship and shoot my hulk and call in concord. I repeat this until they give up and go somewhere else.
Not hard to do and pretty much the best way to deal with this. Calling in concord intentionally isnt an exploit either.

I get bored and feel like suiciding half a dozen t1 fit kessies into a hulk in high sec....admit its funnier when they pop, but concord was on us pretty fast this time I guess (or he had a nice tank)...

It was Concord getting there fast, I had absolutely no tank on my Hulk, hence the phrase 'paper-then'
Anyway thanks for the premature Concord idea I'd heard of that before but was too lazy to do it.

I thought using an alt to "call in concord" ahead of time was an exploit?

I only posted cuz I've been semi afk mining in my hulk for months now and a huge suicide wave of ships has never attacked me before and the fact that I survived. Most planned suicide ganks are successful.

Yes, some of the funniest moments in the game I have had have included being ganked by overwhelming odds. Saying that, if I am going out to bring the raep train to carebears in hisec and I know I'm going to lose my ship I make sure the other guy is going to die too.
