i buy bottled water. why? because i don't give a ****.
i live in the middle of nowhere northern PA (usa). We actually have a spring just up the road where loads of people fill up jugs for drinking. it's been tested, nothing wrong w/ the stuff.
our town water tastes like crap however. combination of whatever they treat the stuff with and the local water works guy is missing most his teeth along w/ a chromosome or two. they've 'shocked' the system a few times without any notification /taking shower "why does this water smell like bleach?"
.... so screw drinking tap. I'll stick w/ dasani... they screw it up at least i get rich in a lawsuit. ---------- Seasons Greetings and have a Happy Alvis Time |

Umm...you do realize Dasani is tap water that is put in a bottle by your friends at Coca-Cola. Then charged back to you at about a thousand times what it costs them.

And theres a reason Evian is called Evian.
Those who pay for it are substantially evian i guess.

Reverse osmosis or atmospheric water generation 4tw.
Tap water only if it does not contain Fluoride. Common sense.

Only ignorant ppl drink flruoride willingly. (toxic by product of alu industry) Why the hell would water department pay to add it in??? or do they get paid to add it in coss it would cost to get rid of it for the factory that makes it as by product.
But it makes no sense in my mind to put it in the water Drinking it would feel quite stupid. _________________________________ -be vary of the men behind the curtain-

Tap water, for me, unless I'm someplace where the local water isn't safe to drink. Generally, unless there's something obviously toxic in the water, dirty water is OK, it just tastes bad (and a cheap Brita filter will remove most of the impurities and make it more palatable). Water from untrusted sources can be sterilized by boiling it for a few minutes, nothing difficult. You can also use chlorine bleach but obviously it should be extremely dilute.
People who say, "I drink bottled water because it's better for me than tap water/tap water is unsafe" are tools unless they live someplace where the tap water really is unsafe. People who say, "I drink bottled water because it tastes better" are honest and get my thumbs up even if I don't agree with them ... besides, I've said all I'm going to say. You're reading my sig now! Bwa!

Depends where I am.
If I'm back home in the UK (Derbyshire), I'll drink tapwater all the way.
However, if I'm in my flat in France, as I am currently, I won't touch the stuff, and buy bottled water.
The tapwater here in France tastes like utter <insert expletive here>, and I wouldn't touch the stuff.

Tap water.
I live in the UK and when my son was in hospital he had to avoid all sources of infection (chemotherapy kills the immune system) when we asked about bottled water we we told in no uncertain terms not to give him bottled water, rather use tap water boiled and chilled. A quote from the infection control nurse... "you wouldn't believe the bugs that grow using bottled water."
So boiled/chilled tap water for me.

Tap water if you can. If you drink a lot of water it can pay off to drink bottled water because of the minerals it contains. I have been told however if you do this you should swap brands around every so often to balance out mineral intake.

I used to drink lots of tap water, in cups of tea/coffee, diluting drinks and so on. But now, I'd only use bottled water for all that.
The tap water used to be good, but a few years back, there were a whole lot of new houses built, and the water company changed their chlorination procedures. The tap water now absolutely reeks of chlorine. And it discolours things if you let it settle. Brown grime, think its manganese or similar. Whenever anyone uses the hydrant in the street, you can't run a washing machine for a couple days, cos of the muck.
Advice from water company and local council? "Run the water for a few minutes before filling your kettle or drinking it". And they want to introduce water meters? And the Government keeps saying "bottled water is a con, drink tap water, it's better for the environment". They can bugger off.
When it's a monopoly by the water firm, and the quality of supply has declined, and sending complaints gets nothing done, then I'm sorry, but tap water isn't good enough.
Yes. Yes, I am. |

That makes sense . Then again if i have to choose between tap water with fluoride and bottled water wihout it .. I take bottled heavy bacteria water any day. You can boil that as well :P
