Originally by: kor anon a shame that an innocent man was shot, but these things happen. Id rather they had killed an innocent man through vigilance, then let a real murderer escape by hesitation.
And I'd rather live in a country founded on the principles of truth and justice.
Killing an innocent man isn't vigilance, it's murder.

How about this one.
"We regret to inform you of the death of your loved one and 240 additional innocent people as our Police force failed to act on a suspected terrorist threat."
If you cannot see the difference people dying in terrorist acts, and people being unjustly murdered by their own government, maybe you'd fit in better in a third-world dictatorship.

Honest mistake my ass. It was incompetence or worse, and it resulted in a totally needless death.

Sorry but in those curcumstances the police firearms officers really are left with the brown smelly end of the stick, its dammed if you do and dammed if you don't really.
It comes down to one innocent life or a lot of innocent lives, in this case it was a tragic accident and one innocent man lost his life. It could if there is another one be a lot of innocent lives and I will stake all I own if he had have been some of the same people screaming at them shooting would be screaming if they did not shoot and bomb went off.
For the love of god one of the officers threw himself at someone he thought was a walking bomb.
No, it came down to one innocent life or no innocent lives.
The cop ****ed up. End of story.

Originally by: nahtoh Hindsight is always 20/20. The failures entered the chain at a much higher lvl than the officers on the train. Did the officers have target fixation? Perhaps but vital info was not passed to them as far as they knew they had a confimed bomber in public area. The officer in charge apprently dithered and Iain Blair is a lying scumbag, They are the ones that should have been hung out to dry IMO not the guys on the ground.
Yes, it's always the higher ups. The "guys on the ground" are never, ever incompetent, poorly trained or just plain rotten.

Haven't you heard? Finland has a long and bloody history of unwarranted aggression and propping up third-world dictators.
