Jump Scouting Droid Jumps through a Stargate, scans the other side (low range), jumps back and reports
Deployable single-shot missile platform Controled from launching ship. Equivalent to having an extra missile laucher with a limited, non-replenisheable number of missiles (say 3).
Sub-system targeting computer Increases the probability that a shot will bypass the enemies shield and armor and hit a module.
Sword of Evil Smithing Gives +4 bonus against undead and .... oh wait, wrong forum ...

This type of ship would require two pilots to fly it. and as previously described have twice as many high/medium/low slots as our current battleships. and have larger drone bay. Possibility to have many more pilots in such ships, and with each pilot more of the ship can be utilized... making a class of ships in the game that can (potentially) withstand attacks from a blob. :D
i like the idea of drones being able to haul for youwhile you mine.

Blockade runs. Such as the Sisters of Eve running food missions to war zones through blockades. Could be missions of all sorts like this though in some way and I am sure there is some planet at all times in need of aid. The items brought to the system would be donated to the populace. The reward system for assisting in such endeavors is up to you.
Oh yes and how about drones that block attacks. They are smaller and might take up less space. Pretty much just swarm around the ship and destroy themselves on things before they hit the ship.

there are literally hundreds of modules in the game, modules for frigates on up to Battleships and various levels of attributes for each and every one. Then there are tech 2 items that for some require as a component, a tech 1 item. In addition, modules require specific skills to utilize it depending upon the attributes of the modules.
There have been many many threads in various sections of the forums, from the idea lab to devel blog to general discussions and in many many cases customization of modules [and ships for that matter][corp/indivudual item brand naming] has been mentioned time and again. I doubt that there will be a "fair" way to allow this customization but extemely high level skills in metalurgy , science, manufacturing, engineering, industry, and others, combined together to allow this. high level means level 5 in a basic area and level 4/5 in a specialty plus level 5 in basic manufacturing and level 4/5 in advanced mfg techniques.
Just as in real world govt who contract with universities such as MIT, Cal Tech, John Hopkins, Lawerance Livermore, for advanced research projects in materials, propulsion, manufacturing, engineering, electronics, weapontry, communications so to in Eve.

Suicide bomber: - elite frigate skills - about 10mil to buy - uninsurable - about 600m/s base speed. - enough power and CPU to equip a MWD - 1 High slot, - 2 Med slots - 5 Low slots - When it bumps into anything it explodes. - The blast would be able to do 50% damage to a BS - 100% damage to a crusier - and kill as many frigs as was in range. - it has no escape pod, so you die with it's destruction - and all Empire space guns, and ship have a shoot on site order.
