There are about 200 Dys moons in eve +/- 20 We have at least 70 accounts banned, some of them were running up to 10 posses, lets say every account had 5 posses with 2 reactions each produicing high ends like ferrogel.
So there were another virtually 700 dys (reactionwise) moons. Now they are gone and cant replaced with new moons cause there are no free dys moons :)
So do math yourself what will happen

Edited by: KISOGOKU on 13/12/2008 13:45:15 Not much , if i had been a DEV i would double end product amounts and/or halfing building materials (you see no need to new moons ,be creative ).But what will happen is CCP will play alchemy a bit like invention they tweaked after it's first come to game

My concern here is this..in fanfest 2008 tech 3 was discussed as part of ther upcoming 2009 summer release. Now with t2 becoming much harder to come by i wonder if t3 is gonna just never happen?

Edited by: Kiki Arnolds on 13/12/2008 17:31:48 Lets just make up numbers and get hysterical...
1. Is there any evidence that they weren't also producing components and finished T2 products with thier exploited materials? 2. Are you saying that no two acounts were used on the same POS? 3. Where does the 3x figure come from? Why not more? Why not less?
Each reaction of ferrogel uses 100 ferrofluid, which in turn uses 50 dys... how then do you get 700 moons for 700 reactions? Do you even know what your talking about? ç¦ |

It will double everytime someone makes a thread about ferrogel. There's already at least 4 in MD forum about ferrogel prices.

1. They would be stupid to make T2 products. Heck, you can't even produce T2 components fast enough with 10 manufacturing slots from the ferrogel.
2. Probably. Most likely you'd have few POS per account.
3. You see, T2 advanced materials have a kind of an inelastic supply/demand curve. That is, when supply is tight and price rises, demand doesn't necessarily decrease until price is significantly higher than production costs. Currently, we are at about 100x or 10,000% profit margin on these moons.
For RL examples of such commodities, please see oil, gas, copper and other base metals, etc.

"ISK can be exchanged for goods and services." "Explain how!" "Billions of ISK can be used to buy GTCs to fund accounts and manu-alts from the character trade forum, and run hundreds if not thousands of production pipes if that is what alliance logistics require. When ISK is limitless you are no longer bound to 1/3 of a single account's potential production capability. Moreover, using the product yourself keeps the product at a high pricepoint; so you do not have to haul metric buttloads of the junk to achieve the same ISK targets."

And we're currently at inifinity % profit on estamel's invulnerability fields. Not sure what your point is, or how it's pertinent to anything.

That is the perfect use of that Simpson's allusion.
Maybe it's time that CCP balances the Racial T2 components so they use their requisite rare minerals and not leave everything sitting on the dyspro chain. _______________ Pwett Founder <Q> QUANT Hegemony

Ferro would have to quadruple in prices from its all lows before Alchemy could even begin to kick in as far as real profitability (when factoring in time and wasted time using other mats in the alchemy process)
And because some genious in their infinte wisdom in the game mechanics and balance area decided it was a wise idea to link cadmium (seriously..WTH were you thinking!?) it will honest never be that profitable to run with alchemy.
Why?
Look at the reaction chain, see what cadmium goes into making, trace it to the final product and you'll see that its also intrinsically linked to ferro as well when you consider the final output.
As dyspro increases, so to does cadmium. |

Not going to waste time getting irked by the whole exploit drama-rama.
I will simply make the suggestion that, from now on, all new characters should get a free chunk of Dyspro with their rookie ship instead of that nugget of Trit.
Well, I thought it was a good idea

Thumbs up for actually thinking this one through.
4 R64 type Moons and only 1 is worth the big money one is moderate and 2 are worth less than R32's
that is interesting isnt it

So then this banning event will be a good test of the impact that the exploit was having on the market. We'll watch the prices and learn. =====
