Hey guys,
we are currently thinking about a setup of 2-3 people to run smooth Lv5 Missions.
As we got no experince with them I want to ask for a little advice, hints and tipps in here.
Our cuurent plan is to get a passive tanked Nighthawk as tank with a Dominix in the back (cap and shield transfer plus some drone damage) plus a third member in a BS (most likely a Megathron).
What you thinkg? Is this plan total bull..? ;-)
Happy for any suggestions.

Sounds like a good plan
You might want to try using a nighthawk + 2 domis
For the Logistic Domis, i would have lots of shield transfers, lots of cap mods, and drones for damage assistance. Should give u a nice tank for the nighthawk and the domis can keep eachother alive if they take some agression.

If you wanna take advantage of the nighthawk you may as well go the whole way straight to the vulture.

Bad idea, Vulture will do no damage at all, it can't even use its turrets since its cap neuted to 0 most of the time, can't use gang mods either for the same reason.

He means that the vulture has a way bigger passive tank than the nighthawk. And which turrets have you been fitting to your vulture btw ?
But yes... The combination of a massive passive tank and a logistics fitted friend is the way forward. Passive shield tanks are the best just because you have the recharge even if you are neuted to zero.

The vulture has a substantially better tank than even the nighthawk, so I don't know what you are talking bout gang mods or weapons.. the purpose of the ship is to soak up damage, nothing more.

This i know may not be possible for you as you might not fly these ships but a good 3 man gang i expect would be 2 basilisks and a CNR, CNR set up for DPS with high resists, and the basilisks transfering cap and shield to everything and with thier bonus's u can make cap out of nothing.. cap to shield to cap to isk to shield to cap ...

I have done a lot of lvl5's with just me and my alt in the past. You can do almost all of them with just 2 ships if both chars have max skills with t2 fitouts + t2 rigs. And this includes no logistics, and no cap dependancy.
Just setup superpassive shield tank command ship and a gank maurader with a large shield transporter. You can permatank a t2 xlarge booster on a golem with 3bcu/3 Active Hardners.
The golem is not the tank, its simply there to tank a few bs's who may spawn mid mission, and I use permatank since I cannot be bothered to manually boost the ship. I just hit F1-F4 and come back when a NPC dies. If you manually want to control both ships, then go for it and use painters etc.
If a neut tower spawns in, just warp golem out and back in again. You do not have to use golem, you can use a paladin or any maurader, but golem is pretty decent for the lazy mission runner. Scrambling frigs die quickly due to 10 x drones + golem and a NH shooting (if you use a vulture, then you cannot shoot as your cap will almost never go above 1. Thats the tradeoff due to better vulture tank)
Avoid sansha missions of course, unless you use faction stuff. Of course, this was all pre-missile nerf, so your milage may vary now. But you get a idea of how you can do these missions. --
