been away about 18 months.........what have I missed?
Been itching to start again for a couple of months but thought my ickle inspiron mini 9 wouldn't be able to handle it....but it works fine!

nothing. Theres still a bunch of whiny, talentless fa****s running around. Plenty of crap to shoot, plenty of gangs that will come at you with 15 - 1 odds and still use 2 falcons and a scorpion to keep you permajammed then brag how you suck when you die.
Solo play is rough, but possible, and very rewarding when pulled off. Also, AF's are now awesome due to their low sig, the new speed nerf, and their ability to kill other small ships when fit properly.
Thats about all though. Also checkout fanfest 2008 page.

Some alliances appeared and collapsed.
I guess you missed the introduction of Factional Warfare.
General discussion is still a melting pot of fun, whining, emoragequitting, propaganda, craziness, conspiracy, silliness and stupidity. There is still the same monthly "Shard EVE", "Fix lag", "EVE will die", "CCP hates veterans/0.0/carebears/small-gangs/big-fleets/etc.." and "Noobs can never compete" threads.
On the whole business as usual in the EVE cluster. ;-)

Also lets see....
-Ammar are now the best race :P
-Caldari are the **** (not in the positive sense)... well ok they are now the you HAVE to have support to PvP race.
-We got little timer things for the modules.
-Lag has been kicked in the ass, with no sign of it's going off the devs top list. can you say lagless jita with 1400 people in local?
-Fleet flight MIGHT of just got fixed in the same way I haven't had an expreince with it, but you can now turn off drones! no more drone or fighter rendering! something tells me that's might help ALL OF IT.
-Tech 3 ships will be out in march, and you'll get to build them out of 5 pieces.
-All ships got speed reduced MASSIVELY, nowever webs were cut down to 50-60% sadly CCP forget once again to nerf NPCs along with this change.
-Afterburners now reduce damage more than MWDs when it comes to missile damage.
-umm... wow I never realized how eve changes over only a year... can you ask like.. questions about certain ships? there is way to much stuff you missed to list here.
Oh man, did you miss MC getting wiped off the face of the map?
