Xanith I just cannot even begin to agree with you here and stand by Valeria and others saying there is nothing wrong.
I came down to your region for a mere 4 nights of NPC'ing. I found HUNDREDS of NPC BS's in the belts and made millions of isk (I think about 90mil in 4 nights) and on top of that enough Large mods to refine into almost enough mins for a Tier 1 Battleship (low ends anyway).
I dont know what you are thinking is 'right'. You say its 'boring' ?? I think it would be more boring if every other can had a named gun and on top of that would completely ruin the already dying economy.
Granted I got almost no top end loot in my 4 nights but it didnt stop me thinking this npc lark is a bit easy compared to the isk you can make.
And for the record I found Beast Lords to be the only GOOD Sansha BS for loot drops. The Lords ARE b0rked if you ask me and drop a lot of small lasers which Im sure are supposed to be named large but I got 2 Modulated Dual Heavy Beams off of Beast Lords and countless Modals.
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Just going to say I'm somewhat disappointed with the current drops. Yes you can still get good drops and named modules. What my peeve is when I take out 3 BS in a row and all 3 of them have nothing but shield mods on them, and not even good ones at that. Half the reason I hunt is for the refinables, it takes a hell of a lot of hunting to get a good refine already, with the new drops, I don't what to think how long it will be before I'm refining loot again.

6 hours of hunting sansha BSs today, and guess what? Not a single large crystal, not 1 smartbomb and not even a small lazer.... IMO thats retarted... The loot drops were to good and causeing the market to crash?!?!? The prices of named lazers (pulses and tachs) were going up, not down. In 1 or 2 weeks with the current loot drop modulated tachs will cost over 200 mil isk each.
Competition between empire and pirate loot drops is actualy what stabalizes the market. Whithout that copetition the market will colapse. Any economics major will tell you that, competision improves the health of the economy. |

You didnt win many medals on the School debate team did you..
You honestly beleive NPC'ing should yield the same profit as mining ?? And then straight away state you usually can fight the NPC's semi afk .....
He's a tricky piece of logic to help explain why Mining should be more profitable than npc'ing:
NPC'ing:
Warp to belt at 60km Assess spawn, if too hard warp to next belt. If not switch on hardners, repairers and guns and go make a sandwich. Come back and pick up the loot cans Move to next belt and rinse and repeat with almost no risk. All Isk is straight into your wallet, normal mods can be recycled without any leet skills and rare loot can be sold.
Mining:
Guess what this still requires being in a belt with NPC's Warp to belt .....this time you have to have gimped your ship so it can only do mining thus leaving you prone to both npc and pc enemys. Also you have to have a friend gaurding you AND another friend in a hauler. Mine away and ensure you watch the screen so you can transfer Ore AND ensure NPC's dont kill your gimped ship. Friend then has to Haul Ore back to a refinery in his ultra vunerable frigate prone ship. Once this done over and over you then have to have high skills to get most from the refine. Even then you need to transport all this valuable minerals to the market and sell them before ANY isk appears in your wallet.
Can you not see that mining is much more logistically challenging than zooming from belt to belt vapourising NPC spawns ??
I PVP and NPC, I dont mine.....yet I happen to be unbiased enough to clearly realise Mining should be the most profitable task in EVE.
Then again this topic isnt mining vs npc'ing. Its are the loot tables a little broke since Tuesdays patch and after hearing some of these replies I think they seem to be

Edited by: Omniwar on 02/09/2004 11:49:07 We had few online when I logged on this morning so I went and killed some Guristas.
After killing 34 Gurista Destroyers I got not a single large weapon, be it turret or launchers.
That isnt right I hope since many live on killing NPC's and sell the loots, but I dont care either if its a feature or bug tbh.
*edit* didnt get a single Large item in those battleship kills, but made me nice isk and got some decent loots from the frigs and cruisers. Spawn of the Devil

Edited by: Munch on 02/09/2004 15:14:55 I am personally very dissapointed in the current loot table changes. Living in 0.0 has just lost some of its advantages. I spent the last 2 days chaining guristas for about 4-6hrs each day, only getting a crap load of basic reinforced bulkheads. Not even 1 large gun, nevermind a named one. I'm not complaining about the isk, but the lack of size/race related modules. My only point is that i would probably get the same if not better loot hunting low-end frigates in 1.0 space, not that i want to. It's just that the whole thing doesn't make sense. And CCP i hope you know what you're doing, 'cause you just managed to ruin the game for me after a whole year+.

Seems like they changed how loot is generated with the patch. It's like the items dropped are generated when the spawn is first spawned and if you keep killing that spawn they will always drop the same base items. Maybe some weird way to discourage keeping a spawn alive?
(Got about 30000 armor repairers last night, which is kind of cool since the named versions recycle pretty damn well)
But then again if the spawn is generated with good items, say a 425 rail, siege launcher and xl booster, keep killing it and you're bound to get some good named versions of those.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

Lets put it this way then: I do the same as u but the question is this:what does a bs with 1m bounty or 1.5m do with a 10mn ab?or small shield rachrger?or even with other frig loot??ah ok now i got it,he's exploiting the game cuz i cant see how he can do dual mwd with that crap loot.ok i'll petitio ccp and ask to ban for 1 month the whole Serpentis fleet i dont need 1 425mm prototype or large accomodation after i kill every bs but if im mistaking then i can assume the npc's are carrying stuff they bought from market (frig class mostly) to a remote region where they intend to sell it and make a nice profit. thats my few isk.good balance!

Loottables are for sure broken since this weeks patch. Yesterday i killed about 40 BS, only from 2 i got a gun, basic ones, but the basic ones are not the problem. I got about 11 1600mm Rolled Tungsten Plates, 7 Large Accomodation Armor Repairer where i used to get only 0 to 2 of them when i hunted before patch the same amount of BS. I also came across of 2 BSs of the same type and bounty and they dropped identical loot. If they would change(fix) the loottables back to the state of version 1724, i'd be happy. Killing a Guardian Elder just for 100 L ammo, Medium Shield Booster and a Ballistic Deflection is crap beside the money, and stuff like this happens ever second BS.

yeah something is not right. I spent most of the day hunting elders, enforcers and such like that. NOT one dropped a gun. But they did drop all the same stuff over and over agian. Sheild rechargers and such on a ship that obvisoly armor tanks.. WTF.. something isnt right. NOT even a single standerd gun after killed atleast 20 NPC BS spawns. And about 8 of them were elders which are hard enough to kill but now I dont even get the cheesy electron blaster or what have you..I am not very pleased.. Seems as they only real way to get rich is to mine now..

Loot tables are fine.
In one hours npc hunting in a 0.3 system I looted 6x arbalest standard launcher (from an agent mission), 3x partial hull conversion, 2x yt-8 cruiser MWD, 8 named small armour repairers, 4 named small hull repairers, and numerous other goodies.
Loads of survey scanners though

I'm not sure if the frigate and cruiser drops where changed, but the BS Gurista drops have certainly been tweaked. No Siege Launchers, 425s, or Large/X-Large Shield boosters all day for me. If they weren't all together taken out then their frequency has been drastically cut.
I'm talking about the basic T1 versions not even named (nothing was dropping for me).

Not to spoil a lovely argument, but I don't care whether anyone thinks the new loot is fair or not.
What I want to know is this: has CCP actually declared whether the new loot drops are intentional or a bug?
