If this offering isn't a scam, there is absolutely no valid reason to refuse an audit - any of the auditors here are trusted by the community and would not disclose anything that might be useful to your competitors or might jeopardize your plan.
A nicely laid out IPO is a good start but guarantees nothing. The typically general "I buy low sell high" is vague enough to suggest that you have no real plan - without an auditor to confirm that you have experience of generating these returns as well as the required skills your IPO is no different to the well rehearsed patter of a conman.

Your implicit assessment of all recognised auditors as untrustworthy is interesting. In this your actions speak louder than your words: your decision amounts to a strong argument against trusting you.

What's this meme all about?
urbandictionary.com, which often helps me keep up with the modern world's proliferation of new-fangled memes, suggests that "maple syrup" might be a quaint idiomatic Canadian code for methamphetamines, but that doesn't seem to fit. Google was also uncharacteristically unhelpful.

holy crap-o cosmoray This guy posts late last night, and since he has not replied to comments for less then 24 hours, you say its a SCAM. I think you need to check yourself and think about most people in this game. If they played last night for 3 hours, posting this at the beginning of their playtime, I probably wouldn't call them a scammer after that same time comes around the next day.
Even then you never know if something came up where he needed to work a double or something, many people will address concerns when they get the time, they don't post the IPO and sit at the computer refreshing.

SCAM.
Actually, I needed to leave my place of employment and run some errands (including updating market orders). I didnÆt realize there was an expectation that I should reply sooner than a few hours.
Originally by: cosmoray you have been posting on the forums for over 4 years.
You need 1B after playing for 4 years? Why do you need cash? I am guessing this character is purchased?
Actually each of those is wrong. As Vikarion mentioned, my history on these forums is less than two months, not the four years you claimed. It seems you are going to beat me up for being a long time player needing only 1B which is a scam alert (What four year player needs 1B?) or I'm a new player, "an unknown", who shouldn't be trusted to invest in.
Why would I purchase a character if this is a scam (old or new)? Why not create a disposable alt?
cosmoray, as a respected member of this board I do appreciate your skepticism but I feel you venom is unnecessary and not really constructive. I'm surprised you havenÆt bothered to correct your erroneous post regarding my history in the forums as well.
Originally by: cosmoray Of those unknown people who REFUSED an audit and raised the ISK the SCAM rate was 50%. That means this bond is just a black or white pick in roulette.
Which is why I am offering more than twice the interest rate of a comparable 1B bond which only offers 5% For twice the risk, IÆm willing to offer more than twice the rewards.
Originally by: cosmoray Damien Jax Also, a 12% return per month is almost one of those too-good-to-be-true rates. What happens when he figures out he can't make the payments...
I've already hedged against this by maintaining enough on hand to cover the interest for both months, 120M. Assuming I break even which I feel is whole unlikely, all investors would still made whole. To that end I would be willing to put the interest in escrow. I know this wonÆt appease those calling for an audit but it is a sign of good will.
Upon further reflection, is 12% really that hard to return in the market? I feel even if I make serious mistakes I can make 12% without leaving a station. I wouldn't be offering 12% unless I thought I could beat that margin and make some profit for myself.

I think 12% is shooting for the moon honestly.
If you are doing what I think... that is cross regional buy orders, limited movement and resell in same station... then there are chances you can make upwards of 40% on some things, but the majority of quick movers are going to hover around the 10-15% mark.

Yeah I am being moody and I won't apologise for it.
Its just that I have watched over 200 IPO/Bond launches over the past 2 years, and most fit into a few categories.
1. Great rep (no audit required). people who can raise cash because of past performances. Investors are willing to invest in the name alone. Good investments lower returns
2. Good/great reputation / audit. These IPO's/bonds are launched by experienced people who have a good business plan quickly answer all questions. Even though these people have good reps they will still allow audits. Even Shar had an audit and his rep is impeccable. These have turned out to be the best investments.
3. No /limited rep / audit These are newer players requesting funds and using auditing to make up for the lack of reputation. These CEO's try their best to answer most questions (promptly). Will take advice from experienced players. Mostly good investments a couple of failures/scams
4. No rep / no audit People without reputation fail to secure business because they refuse audits, have poor plans, lack of trust, slow to respond to questions. Only 25% of these people even get funds. These investments have turned out to be the poorest in the game with a SCAM/failure rate of 50%.
Sorry to the OP if you feel aggrieved, but you fit into category 4 (no rep/no audit). I would never invest in a person with no rep, if they DIDN'T have an audit. Also if you want to raise money here, you will get asked questions, if you don't answer quickly you will get flamed. Nature of the beast I'm afraid.
Still wouldn't invest

Well if that is the case I'm about to learn a harsh lesson, but investors will not. As I've mentioned if I did nothing with the funds I have the interest payments, I can meet those minimum payments now. And I don't expect to lose money on the capital. My presumption is anything over the 12% will be profit. My target is 3-8%. I've been hitting about 15-18% on my own but there are many opportunities I'm missing out on due to lack of funds, hence the Bond.

720 has contacted me after I posted there. Though we have not done any business yet, it does look like we'll come to an agreement. When we do, I'll be sure to make it as secure (for me) as possible. All transactions between us will be contract-based and I will not provide 'credit' to 720 in any way. The risk I'd run, as a supplier, will be minimal as I can always sell my stuff to someone else should 720 run off. Investors have an entirely different risk-assessment to make. That said, I will not be investing in this bond.

If investors throw money at IPO's/bonds and treat the money as lost, you will just embolden lots of people to come here and try for easy money.
The MD community has spent a lot of time trying to reduce the number of scams by providing a thorough inspection and oversight of most businesses. This is not to be taken lightly!

Originally by: cosmoray OP, any sign of an audit in your future?
I feel I made my self clear in the original Bond posting. I'm really not trying to be unreasonable or combative. As I mentioned originally, I do see the purpose of an audit, I understand the issues and risks that not submitting to an audit poses to potential investors. As I said, I did extensive research into previous Bonds on this forum (I read several dozen Bond/IPO offerings from over the last two years, and their entire threads) and I know why audits are requested. As you stated previous, and I agree with, there is a much higher risk with an unknown such as myself, especially with no audit. I feel I stated that clearly as a risk in the original Bond.
However, I must respectful decline to submit to one. I in no way mean to malign the MD's trusted advisers but I have given my word, to not provide certain information which can me gleaned from an audit, to anyone. It is not a matter of trusting auditors, which I do, but rather a matter of honoring a trust placed in me.
If for that reason you chose not to invest, I completely understand.
I don't mean to belabor the point, and I thank all of you who have brought the audit up as a concern, but there will be no audit.
I will keep the Bond offering open, as I promised, until Monday. If the Bond does not achieve 1B in capital at that time I will consult with any interested investors and determine what their wishes are.

720, I would honestly love to invest in your venture, but I simply cannot without an audit, with your unknown status.
Perhaps you would ask the person who has placed their trust in you if said information could be reviewed by an auditor? If you can get an agreement, I would invest.

It is waffles, bad memory I guess. I was focusing on the maple syrup part more than anything. Since you know increased demand for tasty breakfast pastries means more demand on syrup |
