I'm currently using a MMORPG.org 14 day trial and I have found eve to be very impressive. However before I subscribe I would like to know if the problems I am experiencing are going to continue.
Occasionaly when I attempt to connect to the tranquility server the log in screen pauses at around 3/4 of the way through (on its second pass) then will disappear. I receive no error message and I can press escape to bring up the options but I cannot press connect again. This occurs around 1 in 3 connection attempts.
I assume the menu system thinks I am in the game?
I believe this is some sort of networking timeout but I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem or has found a reason for it. When the game actually connects it runs absoultely fine.
Here are my system specs: 2.8GHz Intel P4 with HT 512mb RAM 10GB+ hard drive space free ATI 9000 pro 64MB
The system runs it fine so I assume its not any of the above.
Here are my Network settings: 512Kb in 128Kb out internet connection routed through Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing.
I have seen in the forums that ICS may be a problem. Any reliable solutions? as I require sharing so disabling it is not an option.
Thanks in advance. If you require anymore information let me know.
Jonathon
PS How can I search the forums? There might be an answer to this already but damned if I can find a search option.

I don't have a problem once in the game however.
The more I have this problem the more I think after each reset a large amount of data is getting downloaded. Once I log in succesffully I'm OK for the rest of the day. Unfortunately this could take an hour.

Thanks Bobby,
I think you are right. If I leave the eve client alone and give it pretty much the internet by itself it will load.
I have found if the logging in dialg closes it is best to restart the client as well.
Thanks for your response.
