The problem was finding a skill that would finish in under five days and would be useful if I ever reactivated the account for real. Refining V met the criteria.

I few friends of my quit because of the raise in prices (60D GTC ) and the disabling of Ghost Training. Now CCP wants them to come back without addressing the issues that made them leave?

how come all of you guys that never play get these free 5 and 7 and sometimes more days of free play time
most of you never coming back to pay but using the free plays and sucking up resources while the loyal subscribers dont even get a christmas special anymore

I think its on the annerversery of your account creation for un-subbed accounts (I would guess that you would have to have been un-subbed for a certain amount of time as well). I've gotten 2 7 day offers, both in July, which was the creation date of my account back in '06.

Without being patronising in the least, I shall walk you through this thorny issue.
- Some of us started playing at the cost of ú8 per 30 days due to the weakness of the $ compared to the ú
- We thought this was good value, as even after it expired your character would gain SP via Ghost training
- The cost if you sub now is ú12 at the current exchange rate to Euro's
- You don't get any SP after it runs out
So we don't play anymore as we feel it no longer offers good value for money.
In my case (and I'm sure you don't care), this is because ú12 a month would be about ú1 per hour of game time, and I cannot justify it.
Today however, I am feeling generous, so here are some example retorts for you to use :-

Did anyone else notice on the special link you had to use for the free 5 days that it also said you could resub for $9.95 U.S. a month after you reactivated for the free 5 days? Well, I noticed! But then I subsequently noticed that there is no such offer in my now-reactivated-for-the-free-5-days account. 
The closest thing I can see is that if I pay for a one-year sub in one lump sum, it works out to be $10.95 a month. Okay, so this character isn't my trader alt, but jeez. I can still do the math here, CCP!
Where's my cheapo $9.95 plan offering? I'm not feeling the Christmas gift of love here!

W R O N G, CCP raised the real price of 60 days GTC and delete 30 & 90 days, so the ISK price was raised too by CCP, in an indirect manner.

For Ghost training, you consider that you play when you wait for a skill ? I don't.
CCP used the best way to motivate players to return to the game after a break by deleting that... Oh, wait.
Try to remotivate by offering a ridiculous 5 free days compensation make me laught. This don't repair the suppression of some features and the damage caused by nerfs.

Okay, GM in-game response time was excellent and I just got an answer: You won't see the offer in your normal account info right up front after you reactivate. You'll receive an email offer for the $9.95 for the month after 4 of the 5 free days are up, in case anyone else is wondering.
