Who came up with this stupid idea, and who will it benefit ?
I know that we base our operations in 0.0 in the map and pilots in space.. All the Alliances in 0.0 do.. so what are we gaining if they remove this.. ??
I think it will kill 0.0 and pvp in those system outside the empire jump points.. Only ppl i can see that will gain enything from this are "pirates" and lone pilots who dont wanna be seen going out to 0.0 for whatever reason..
dont think im gonna be playing this game if they remove local and map pilots.. only way i know where to go to find targets or run form them..
and how will we wage war now ?????
im not happy now..

Read the latest blogs - this idea is being seriously considered by CCP... personally I am in favor of removing Local completely... and also removing pilots in-space from the map completely... Let's have total realism - if you want to see who is in space around you then you gotta send out a patrol of some kind to do a little recon... |

Removing "pilots in space" will make combat more interesting. Good riddance. It will force people to use fast scouts to keep track of enemies, not that able pvp groups didn't use that already. --

Oh noes alliances will have to *gasp* actually do some work and send out patrols in order to maintain their iron grip over a sixth of the bloody map.

And what's more, guerilla tactics will become possible without the enemy screaming about safespots and warping to the middle of nowhere the moment you enter a system, only to spam the boards with how much of your arse they kicked.

In short, \o/ \o\ \o/ /o/ \o/ --- Having recently acquired a lab slot (thank you, rental bug), I wholeheartily concur, there's absolutely no problem with lab slots! |

If they do it, fine, but at least give alliances some way of deploying player owned radar sites in systems. This way alliance owned radars could give all members of that alliance an early warning system and create a half decent way of defending alliance space.
My thought is these radars are deployable at moons and basically provide the same information as the current 'Pilots in Space' to the alliance who owns it. Maybe upgraded ones can also deliver ship class and all that.

the only difference between 0.0 space and 1.0 space is security, stations and different roids. none of those should have any baring on all of a sudden not beign able to see how many pilots are in 0.0 space. space is space, high security or not. if oyu can see how many pilots are in a 1.0 system, then the same "technology" is used to see how many pilotes are in a 0.0 system.
now the local chat thing, i dont mind that at all. it works for both parties (normal good people, and pirates). but the no pilots in space thing.. bah.. bite me! -------------------------------------------- I've had the same Gurista Imputor on my tail for the past 16 systems..

I agree it is really the best idea. They also are going to make scanner better so it might not be as bad as some of you may think who dont like it.

The 'pilots in space' thing is ***, but if you nerf local like that nobody will talk in it (never know who could be listening), so you may as well remove it entirely.
The ONLY people helped by removing local are small groups of pirates killing any mining ops they can find, and solo ninja miners that will run about popping every roid in sight.
IMHO this would be a death blow for the alliances and would seriously harm the economy.

I'm all in favor of removing people from space. No, really. Get out of here. All of you.
Or perhaps someone could explain the rationale for strenghtening the tactical position of choke point gate campers at the expense of pilots in transit?

Getting rid of pilots in space and the local chat are ******* stupid, stupid ideas. I don't know who suggested it and why it's being taken seriously, but whoever did should be tarred, feathered, and shot on sight.
I for one don't have time to do the amount of excess scouting I'd need to do in order to continue normal solo operations, and quite frankly, I won't be able to play the game to any acceptable level if they implement this change.
If those changes go in, there's no point in my continued playing this game because it'll be boring as hell during the time I do have since I won't be able to play properly because of said restraint.
You hear that Oveur? You implement those changes, and I for one, will cancel my account and leave. Excuse my angry tone, but pull your head out of your ass, and cancel those changes while you can.
To everyone else: bite me.
