Citizens of the Caldari State and Affiliates of other Nations,
Last nights unprovoked attack on a Takamatsu Trading Exchange convoy has in short, caused not only a disruption in corporate activities but also a great deal of irritation to myself. The willful destruction of TAKA property will not be tolerated, no matter the financial or political orientation of the reason.
I have therefore authorized the following balances to be transferred to the account, of the first man or woman who brings me the corpse of each particular perpetrator:
- Viceroy: A bounty of 20 Million ISK
- Ben Freegate: A bounty of 15 million ISK
- Un1CroN: A bounty of 15 Million ISK
- BUBLeS: A bounty of 15 Million ISK
The deadline for this task is in seven days time. All transactions in regards to the reward shall be located at Akkilen, Sisters of EVE bureau at exactly 22:00 hours. The individual who initiates the first exchange of each particular criminal shall benefit from the reward. Those that prove to be useful, shall stand to benefit from further work in the near future.

The bounties show the danger of such criminals and how important it is to capture them.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Yes, it was terrible listening to it all happen. If i see these dangerous individuals I will of course call in back-up.
I urge all citizens who come across these pirates to communicate through the proper channels, such as Caldari and Takamatsu to aid in claiming the bounties.

Maybe I can catch them in a group of badly damaged pods . . .

I was not able to attend the escort due to other matters, however i was present in the comm channel and i have read several reports about the incident.
I agree with your posting of bountys of the above named pilots although you must also address the failure on the Takamatsu Trading Exchange part.
The choice of route for the convoy was questionable at best, the systems Obe and p3en-e are well known for their high levels of crime and piracy. Perhaps an alternative route would have been more appropriate.

The CEC condems the action taken by the likes of Viceroy, BUBLeS, Ben Freegate and Un1CroN. Yet, the CEC wonders why the Takamatsu Trading Exchage was not more careful about the escorts that it trusted. Two of the attackers are from known pirate corps and should never have been trusted, especially when transporting such a precious cargo. Did the TTE not run background checks on these people, or did they fail in their first obvious security check?
The CEC supports the TTE's decision to place the high bounties on the pirates, and congratulates anyone that receives the money.
Also the CEC would like to honour the pilots that tried to save the convoy, outgunned they fought bravely and with honour. Thank you.
The CEC will be making more statements about the recent conflicts between Ishukone and Kaalakiota, aswell as others about the Caldari state in general.

Agreed Citizen Amin. The hiering of mercenaries and freelancers for a escort mission carrying cargo worth hundreds of millions was not a wise choise citizen Masaki Takamatsu.
Even with a group of skilled pilots from different cooporations accurate inteligence reports showed the p3en-e to be heavily guarded by a pirate battleship fleet. Viceroys betrayal might very well have saved the other 2 transport ships and the defence fleet from utter destruction.
Does Viceroy and the others deserve a bounty? Yes! but they did save the rest of your cargo, without knowing it themselves.
Next time Takamatsu Trading wants to move expensive cargo through not so safe routes. i sugest contacting the CEC and them send a security detail. The CEC Military forces only fights for the good of Caldari..... and money of course
spend the money getting those poor hauler pilots escorted safely from obe instead. ------------------------------------------------

I have to say, that after reviewing the logs and my data transcripts, I have come up with a short list of aids for the Takamatsu Trading Exchange to help in preventing incidents like this occuring again.
There is no charage for this in initial consultation for TAKA, though subsequent work will of course require reimbursement.
1)Expensive, low mass goods such as high end minerals should be transported in fast haulers such as frigate class or even cruiser class vessels. Industrial classes like the Badger, when kept in good working order, are wonderful ships but unsuitable for such ventures.
2)The minerals should be packaged into scan-proof containers such as secure containers. Evene when transporting in friigate class vessels, these containers are invaluable as they have the added benefit of more space!
3)Decoys. Utilising the haulers as decoys would have been a wonderful idea. Fitting the haulers with secure containers and then masses of sheild and sheild hardening modules would have given targets for any pirates while allowing smaller, more maneuverable craft to escape with the cargo.
4)As Citizen Xrak has pointed out, background checks are very important when reviewing the security arrangements.
5)Transport destination through space like p3en-e is a highly dangerous route. Perhaps using light frigates the convoy could have made it through. Industrial classes. . . . . I think Viceroy saved our lives and those of the other two haulers *chuckles*. Utilisation of another route might be a more safer and more profitable idea.
6)When someone suggests the convoy is carrying illegal materials such as slaves, the convoy leader should quash such accusations immediately. Several pilots were worried about the lack of denial on the part of the Convoy leader and as such didn't react as fast as they could have when Viceroy attacked. Indescion breeds loss.
This is of course, not an exhaustive list and I am sure that the TAKA have such meassures underway already to help prevent any further convoy losses in such a manner.

An open reply to Masaki Takamatsu
Although it appears that I was duped into attacking the convoys by Viceroy, I accept the responability for my actions. There is no smoke without fire as they say.
Anyone is welcome to try come claim the bounty....
I was told the Industrial were carrying enslaved minmatar brothers and sisters, who i was attempting to free. It became clear as soon as i opened fire that this was not the case, and relying on a pie-rat to cargo scan for you is never a good source of reliable information.
I have recieved further information from a relaible source that the industrials were carrying high grade refined megacyte for delivery to an Amatar trader. It appears this was to be payment for "services rendered".
I still find the whole operation by Takamatsu to stink of a slaver front corp. I will find the answer and if they ARE supplying slaves or are paid for by slavers I and my associates will continue to hound them.

If this operation was run by a slaver corp why would Mr Ben Freegate attack the suspected slavers? He spends most of his time assisting the Amarr Empire so I do not understand why he would attack one of his allies. Is he just a common criminal?
