Ok I have been playing for about 3 weeks, and somehow I have yet again managed to pick the underpowered side, for yet another MMORPG. This is more of a request for clarification, rather than a demand for change, as I am still learning. In any case, I have made comparison charts of all of the Ships, Weapons, and Ammunition, and have spent my mining time studying them. I have just bought a Blackbird and was very upset to find that it is the most inferior of all level II-1 Cruisers. I understand it is sort of a trend, to give each race advantages and disadvantages in certain levels, but Caldari also loses in the Scorpion Category. Perhaps I am missing something. I understand Raven can be a big bad a hole, but with smartbombs, and defender missiles, maybe even mwd to outrun, what does one have to counter turrets? Other than being a small ship.
At 2300 Blackbird has the least Total Structure+Armor+Shield
2 Low Slots, Give The Blackbird the only '2' Among slots through the other level 2 first tier cruisers
At 525 the least power of all level 2 cruisers
Least Cargo of all Level 2 cruisers
0 Drones!
Undergunned, compared to the 5 high power slots of the Gallente, and Minmatar, and the insane drone bay of the Arbitrator
At 11250 Scorpion has the least total Structure+Armor+Shield
Completely undergunned with 6 high power slots instead of 8, compared only to the Dominix which has a 70% larger drone bay
Lowest cargohold of all of the battleships

Yah that is what I heard, but it is odd that one race must be relegated to the ECM side, especially when it is such a pathetic aspect of the game. In any case I will probably save for the Raven, until they nerf missiles, which they will do when I get the Raven, maybe a day after. Ill let you know when I get it, so you can be prepared.

Oh I have read plenty on this Forum, tanking is the name of the Game. And the specific racial requirements of ECM make it a far too specialized requirement. ECM is pathetic as it yet again emphasizes a requirement of large groups for a player to be competetive. The entire game is wrapped around players associations. I would call them corporations, but how can you as all owners are employees. Oh I can understand getting a Moa, that can compete with Level 2-1 Cruisers, quite nicely, but then the Moa has to deal with the Mighty Thorax. Im just trying to understand their Logic. IT seems Minmatar ships are a bit better balanced, when they have a shortcoming, it is made up big time in another area.Oh and if Blackbird is an ECM ship, why the heck doesnt it have any higher capacitor rating. Blackbird and Scorpion are not meant for any player that does not want to be a part of a corporation, is what they should say. Wish I knew that before I bought it.

Ill just pick another race then. I am just tired of every MMORPG I play, I pick something, it is completely screwed up and 'good in groups of 50'. Im not paying for this damn game to help any 'group' buy better ships, im playing this game for me only. Balance should be emphasized across the board, on each level of ship for any type of player.

So then you would all agree that in PVE blackbird and Scorpion are completely underpowered in comparison to other Ships? I did not know about the ECM vs NPC nerf until about 2 days ago when I read the patch notes, so in PVE they are completely useless. What is the equivalent uselessness in a ship for PVP then? I was under the impression, after reading the patch notes, that equity between the classes ie "damage per capacitor per second' was an important aspect. Why should it be then? Just say this battleship is for this, this is for that, why the move to DPS equalization?
