As in the past we will be offering advertising slots for players to use during the live broadcast of the Alliance Tournament finals. These adverts will be played between studio and in game feeds and will reach a massive live audience of Eve players. Simply put this is the biggest ad space available for Eve players and yet again it will cost you absolutely nothing to submit an advert.
So do you want to announce your corporation is recruiting? Do you want to spread the word about your new fan site? Or maybe you just want to show off! Read the instructions below and submit your advert!
General Rules All video and Audio material must be Eve related! All music and sound effects must be from Eve Online, due to copyright issues we cannot and will not accept anything else, this is not negotiable. The item/service being advertised must be Eve related. The advert must be suitable for all ages (no swearing/nudity). Content must be respectable (no attack ads) and suitable for broadcast. We have the final say on these issues - if your video is rejected we will say why and your welcome to try to fix it.
Technical Rules 1024x576 Resolution, 1:1 aspect ratio. This is very important, adverts will be rejected if in any other format. 30 Seconds long MAX. Wmv, Avi, Mov are acceptable formats. Video quality is more important than file size, that said don't make a 30 second long 2 gb file please.
Copyright issues repeated This comes up every time so this will be the final ruling and comment on it.
All audio must be from Eve Online the game, this includes music and sound effects, the only exception is recording your own voice. All Video must be in game or of your own creation completely.
That's it, no checking with lawyers on copyright laws, no researching the particular clip you have used because its free for public use, not happening sorry. I know that may be annoying but I don't have the time to go through it all and trust me you're not the only one bothering me about it.
Resources As mentioned you can use any of Eve's music and sound effects as well as any music by Realx.

We'll stop taking submissions on the 4th of Feb, mail your adverts to [email protected], please link to a download of your advert rather then attached files to the email.
Good luck and any questions feel free to post them below. --------- Charlie Video Producer WTB: My kidney back |

Why do you have to check copyright issues if the submitter has already verified it's free to use?

Knowing lawyers the way I do, I'm assuming it is because "taking someone's word for it" is not in their vocabulary. ________________________

Some music files seems to be missing? Ambient 19 and 27 for example.
Also, are you allowed to remix the audio if you can clearly hear that it's eve music?

You mention filetypes, which is great, what about the much more important issues of what codecs you will support? Meanwhile, on the other side of town . . . |

I'm sorry, but I am wondering how can I make a video that is 1024 x 576 resolution but with a 1 by 1 aspect ratio?
Wouldn't the 1 by 1 rule make it square while 1024 x 576 make it a widescreen rectangle?
Sorry for the noon question, I want to know to advertise my blog, EVE's Weekend Warrior. Visit my website/blog!

You set that as the size of your movie. Place where you change that depends on your program.
Quote: Wouldn't the 1 by 1 rule make it square while 1024 x 576 make it a widescreen rectangle?
Yes, that makes it 16:9 ratio, which is the standard ratio for most multimedia now. I'm guessing the res of 1024 x 576 is so that the media is accessible for everyone, and not too large. Meanwhile, on the other side of town . . . |

Pixel aspect ratio, not picture aspect ratio. ie. don't use rectangular pixels (such as 0.9 NTSC or 1.45 PAL) normally used for television. Your picture aspect ratio is 16:9.

Is it possible to get an update on more technical issues regarding submissions, such as what codecs you will support, how many frames per second videos are required to be, etc.
That sort of stuff is fairly important depending on how you're handling it =\ Meanwhile, on the other side of town . . . |

OP says wmv, avi, and mov are acceptable containers. I don't think they will be picky about codecs so long as they're common ones. H.264 is good for .mov.
Render out to a high bitrate, 30 fps. That way if the quality needs to be scaled down it can be easily recompressed before the stream starts or as part of the streaming package.

Sorry missed the frame rate, 25 frames per second please. Any main stream codecs are fine as long as they're in a named container as mentioned above. --------- Charlie Video Producer WTB: My kidney back |

So, you're saying we can't even record and create our sound effects apart from our own voiceovers? Or make our own music tracks for them? That's pretty harsh. ____________

Could I at least accelerate the music? I want to make a more dinamic video, still all musics I tryed so far are waaaay to calm. It would still be Eve music, only faster. Does that mean any form of copyright violation? Please answer me, becouse if not i will have to rethink my project ^_^

You can edit the music as you like. Also look for the rock and race themed songs which are faster paced. --------- Charlie Video Producer WTB: My kidney back |

Thx. I have another doubt still. After we upload the videao does it become a property of EVE? Could the creator of the video still post it on other websites, such as Youtube? The reason for this is that I want to make a publicity video about the Corp I¦m in, and would like to be able to show the video at the [Future] Corpoation website.
Thanks again ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solon Mega War Commander of EDEM¦S WARRIORS

One small question, I can use my own voice and videomaterial (out-of-game) that I've produced myself but what about music you make yourself entirely? Is that allowed?
