Edited by: Horatio Starkiller on 19/07/2004 13:24:51 Well, further to my post originally, which I was slighty unsure of hence I removed until I got confirmation... One of my brothers has checked the background of one called "Ben Freegate" which is the person I originally believed to be a member of the Amarr Auxilia but was unsure, and confirmation is true...
This name may ring bells to some people especially when they read reports such as this ... Deception at Obe recognize a name there? Not only that but their is a fair price on his head... Bounty
Now the freedom fighters of the minmatar republic, often accused of acts of terrorism recognise the Amarr Auxilia corporation as a firm supportor of PIE's ideals. PIE's most recent report outlined the destruction of mining ships that apparently were being protected by a pirate. Yet a member of one of their closest allies, we certainly see them flying joint fleets together all the time. Has been part of an act of piracy himself alongside the notorious pirates Viceroy and BubBlEs.
This is what I believe... in a zealous fit of rage at a pirate escaping their clutches PIE turned their guns on the closest target... the innocent miners, not willing to lose face PIE threaten further hostile action unless the mining corp confess to support a pirate, a confession under threat I should mention.
These so called defenders of an empire whose mandate includes destroying pirates seem willing to turn an acts of piracy and allying with pirates when it suits while trying to convince everyone else that it was a good thing they did. -----------

Without getting into the specifics of this case, two things spring to mind here.
Firstly, although Amarria Auxilia are supporters of PIE, we do not have any input in their recruitment policies.
Secondly, even the most vicious of terrorists and pirates are not beyond redemption. It is the wish of true Amarrians everywhere that criminals can be rehabilitated and returned into society as loyal subjects of the Emperor.

I personally find this rather insulting. I lost track of the amount of time I spent tackling prates in Sarum Prime back in the days when it was a .4 system.
PIE has a long history of thwarting pirates. Indeed, just a few weeks ago we engaged a pirate corporation in PRM space. Pirates which the Minnies were either unable or unwilling to deal with themselves.
I also notice that one prominent Minmatar "freedom fighter" recently defected to a pirate corporation before returning to his roots. Perhaps you would care to explain this?
And if you really thought redemption was that simple, why don't you surrender to us so we can tell you what you pennance is?

It is an insult I shall not soon forget, as we have given our all in the fight against piracy everywhere!
Leave this thread be my brethren, to respond in kind to this thrash would simply be unworthy and is clearly beneath us.

How thin skinned these Amarrians turn out be! A race that deems it acceptable to enslave other sentient beings, manages to sit by and watch entire families work, suffer and die by their whim. Yet someohow they manage to be offended by these allegations (sorry I mean facts).
Pirates, steal property, Amarrian slavers steal peoples entire lives, families, hopes everything. Pirates sometimes kill their quarries, Amarrian slavers work, even torture Slaves for their entire lives.
Makes their high and mighty "weve been fighting Pirates for ages" attitude look rather pathetic.
We`ve all fought pirates for a long time, its just that our actions arnt over shadowed by hundreds of years of atrocities.
the sooner the galaxy is rid of your fatuous, hypocritical ilk the better.

Even terrorists are redeemable. All you need to do is, submit to the will of the Emperor, accept your punishment like a man, and make an effort to start along the road to enlightenment.

As per my original post, I'm not qualified to discuss this specific case, as I do not know all of the ins and outs of his history.
However, we do have extensive re-education facilities, as you will find out if you ever surrender to us.

Your fantastical suppositions and deluded inferences are nothing more than a desperate attempt to sully the good name of our heroic corporation. Where you have failed militarily, you now seek victory through propoganda. Fortunately for us, this is proving just as inept.
Hardin has written a detailed and factual account of the circumstances surrounding PIE's attack on miners allied with pirates in Empire space and you can read his comments here...Miners pay the price... ]
PIE has always taken a dim view of terrorists and pirates operating in Amarr space and the corporation will continue to do so.

Gaius, I do recall not all that long ago PIE lambasting Oracle because some of the pilots in the same alliance (CA, at the time) had been caught pirating, and therefore we were associating with pirates.
Karma is occasionally a bitter pill, so just sit back, relax, and suck it up like the insideous, slaving, pirate-loving warmongers you are. [EDIT: Typo]

Obviously anyone is redeemable. Even a terrorist who denounces terrorism and joins the righteous can be considered "redeemed". Our holy Emperor Doriam holds this is true. To submit oneself to the will of the empire and defend it with ones own soul is the greatest redemption God can offer.

Edited by: Ezar Vorbarra on 19/07/2004 17:55:07 Allow me to quote the scriptures here:
For forty millenniums we struggled in the desert.
Time of infinity to grief our misgivings.
Time of eternity to stray without God's guidance.
One can repent and pray for forgiveness.
But true meekness is one that has penetrated and laid its roots in the very heart of a man.
## The Scriptures. Kuria 4:23
Redemption is a relationship between God and the sinner. It is not for me nor the rest of you to judge a penitent and repentant man. Forgiveness is the grace of God that you have only to reach out and claim. I extend the same offer of amnesty to any of you matari terrorists who turn yourselves in and stop your wicked and vile ways.
PIE has not altered its position in any way. Mercy is shown to any criminal who turns himself in, mends his ways, and offers service to God and the Amarrian Empire. Mercy is withheld from those who are caught in the act.
If anything this should be an example to the Matari people. You can be spared the wrath of the vast Amarrian war machine! Repent now and be counted amongst those whom will be spared!

With apologies to "Mr Hardin," PIE does not speak for Amarria Auxilia.
I was shocked when I heard of Mr. Freegate's actions. Obviously the temptation was strong to spin some kind of public relations story and hope this whole situation blows over.
Integrity demands better of me.
Ben will be punished for his actions. I was hoping to be able to speak to him of this before making the announcement public, but this rediculous over-analysis of one man's irresponsible actions has gone on long enough. The time and date are yet to be determined, but Ben Freegate will be executed, (yes, podded) in front of witnesses by Amarria Auxilia pilots. The corpse will be delivered to the appropriate authorities, and no bounty will be accepted. There will be discipline among Amarria Auxilia pilots. If Ben has a problem with this, his only option will be to leave the corporation.
However, as Deacon Vorbarra is so right to point out, forgiveness is a critical component of the Faith. If Ben agrees to the above punishment, he will be allowed to remain in the service of Amarria Auxlia and of the Emperor.
I pray his clone will lead a more blessed existence.

I find this so-called attempt at smearing the Amarria Auxilia's name to be somewhat laughable. Was it not Oracle, whom were former members of the Curse Alliance - perhaps somewhat the most FAMOUS pirate alliance within the known Universe today?
Would that not mean, you are comparing a single, misguided pilot to that of an entire alliance?
May I remind you also, of a certain TPFM member whom recently turned rogue? and in fact surrounded himself by friends whom even hunted those whom had trusted him.
You did not see myself, nor the AA, nor even anybody within the CVA, come to Galnet to throw dirt at the Paratwa Wa for accepting this known villain back within their ranks. Why is that I wonder?
Ben will be punished for his actions, as outlined above by my fellow pilot Garreck, and he will either learn from his mistakes, or he shall leave. The choice is his. However, this is nothing to do with PIE - this is an internal matter for the Amarria Auxilia, so leave our friends out of this.
Now, silence dogs!

Originally by: Makkar Gaius, I do recall not all that long ago PIE lambasting Oracle because some of the pilots in the same alliance (CA, at the time) had been caught pirating, and therefore we were associating with pirates.
You will also recall then, that several PIE pilots defended you on their personal Honor, including myself, stating that Oracle had never been, to our knowledge, involved in anything related to piracy.
Initially we played on this, but as the good name and reputation of Oracle was smeared, we turned our backs to it. Ours was more of a point that you left for 0.0, departing the Republic, not that you were taking up piracy alongside the CA.
We asked our pilots to tone down your connections to Curse time and time again, because we were not about to add to the mud being thrown at one of our most time honored enemies, if not the most honorable enemy corp we have ever met.
Selective memory, Makkar? You are one bitter dog.
As stated above, the Auxilia has taken amarrian ways to its heart, judged the accused and found him guilty.
That is true integrity, and I am proud to have Auxilia pilots on my wing anytime we fly together. ----------------------------------------------

Edited by: Ben Freegate on 19/07/2004 19:34:10 I could sit here and tell me side of the story, but you all already know what happened. I could try to spin it into some story of how I tried desperatly to steal the cargo away from Viceroy, or destroy what I thought were slaves falling into enemy hands, but none of that would be true.
The truth of the matter is, quite simply, my pockets have no politics. I managed to scan the cargo undetected, at first to simply see what I was risking my neck to protect. Once the convoy reached Obe, it became quite clear that all hell was about to break loose. With 20 battleships holding p3en, and the convoy breaking apart at the seams thanks to the trickery of Viceroy, it became very obvious that the cargo was not going to make it to where it was supposed to go.
As far as this "punishment", its not going to happen. I have already turned in my official resignation and am at this moment packing my goods and preparing a long journey back to my home. When I first joined Blacksheep, I felt pride and a sense of honor fighting along side my Caldari brothers. Soon though, it became clear that the Amarrians were not as apprciative. I was not welcome in the open Amarr channel because of my race, and in the end we became nothing more then lapdogs to an emperor that holds no authority over me or my people.
I have no regrets over this attack, and I look foward to anyone who thinks they can claim my bounty.

Tsual, you obviously still cling to the out-moded concept of "individualism." One man cannot do anything worthwhile. Only by sacrificing the "worthless self" to contribute to a higher cause than ones' self, can true enlightenment be achieved. Serving the empire and sacrificing my own will makes me better. None are inferior, none are supposed to suffer at our feet.
The destiny of all is to one day serve the creator alongside us. Slavery is but an unfortunate alternative to those who would not do so willingly. Through our history we have been forced to such measures, but the races that suffered through slavery now serve God and the Emperor as free men, and we are the better for it.
This message seems to become more and more lost as this struggle continues, but forgetting it will ensure that victory will never come.
As for me, I am proud to serve alongside Caldari, Gallente, and my fellow Amarr in service to the Empire.

Once again Garreck shows himself to be a truly enlightened individual. If a Gallente can achieve such enlightenment there is hope even for you Minmatar.
To recognise your place in the Universe and accept it is to be on the path to enlightenment. The Ni-Kunni have achieved this and Garreck is well on the way.
Those who deny their place in the Universe demonstrate great failings. Not for them contentment and peace, rather their life is one filled with envy and greed.
But do not despair, we can help you.

As corp chaplain, I feel that some of you need some spiritual guidance.
The scriptures clearly tell us:
"But the people of Amarr lived righteously and in fear of God.
Thus they were saved and became God's chosen one."
## The Scriptures. Book II.
Thus the Amarr are the original chosen people of God. It says nothing about God harboring hatred or resentment for the other races. The Amarr were chosen to spread the word of His glory.
To address the issue as to whether or not one ethnicity is "better" than another, this passage clearly suggests that other races can become "chosen" people if they live righteously and in fear of Him.
Only through service to God do we become better than ourselves, and we step closer to His divinity.
The great Amarr Empire was founded to cultivate the spirit of man.
## The Scriptures, Book I.
The empire was founded to cultivate the spirit of all mankind, not just the Amarrian people. There is room here for all ethnicities. I am proud of the evangelistic efforts of Graelyn that originally brought the Blacksheep Squadron to serve the Lord.
Thus it is service to God makes you better than those who choose not to serve. We show our worship and devotion to the Lord by serving His chosen Emperor. You become a small but important part of something much greater than you can ever imagine!

Dear Ezar Vorbarra, I can partly agree with your arguments but please don't make it sound as if lesser creatures could ever reach our level of enlightment.
I remember during the championships the houses of Ardishapur and Sarum didnt allow 'undeserving savage creatures'(quote from Idonis Ardishapur) to represent them.
I am a true Amarr. I am proud to be directly descendant from the Amarrian ethnic group before it conquered its home planet. I do have a great sense of tradition and ancestry.

Stoop to your level, would be far more acurrate. At least in your case.
Especially being a proud member of a society that has been nothing short traveling a downward spiral for the past century, stemming from the humulating defeat at the hands of the Jove and the fracturing of your empire.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to drop your superiority complex if not to sound horribly ignorant but to perhaps keep your people safe as I am sure your empire will diminsh even further in the future.

Horatio and the other Oracle attacking PIE in this way should be ashamed.
As Jim Hawkins has admirably put it the evidence that PIE are 'pirating' is slim in the extreme and I have to say these claims are utter nonsense.
As for Mr. Freegate I never knew his history and as can be seen above once it was brought to the attention of Amarria Auxillia dealt with in an extremely prompt manner. We have nothing to hide!
Never have we stooped to such attacks on Oracle. In fact on MANY occasions (ask Einheriar) we defended your honour when all about were claiming YOU were pirates. In several GalNet postings I actually put my own honour on the line to state that Oracle never had or never would pirate.
It seems that you have selective memories and because your freedom fighting brothers are getting so severely outclassed in space you have to resort to propoganda slurs like this.
Well so be it Oracle. You are no longer a shadow of the corp we started fighting. I look forward to your imminent extinction...

Horatio and the other Oracle attacking PIE in this way should be ashamed.
As Jim Hawkins has admirably put it the evidence that PIE are 'pirating' is slim in the extreme and I have to say these claims are utter nonsense.

And why in the Emperor's name did you wait till I was on holiday to launch this 'expose'?

I would like to point out that my post was less concerned with the allegations themselves but more with the fact that PIE stands proud denouncing piracy on one hand and partakes slavery on the other hand which is a far worse crime on a larger scale.
Indeed I acknowledged PIEs anti pirate stance and pointed out that we also fight pirates whenever we find them. My issue was the hypocracy involved in your selective morality.

We are all slaves in one way or another. Amarrian loyalists are slaves to the Emperor and to God. Adopted Minmatar workers are slaves to their employers. And you, you are a slave to envy, anarchy, barbarity and your base emotions.

Well it really depends how you look at it. For Amarr going about their lawful business, PIE helps to keep the spacelanes free from ne'r do wells that would attack their ships and steal their legitimate cargos. Whether that cargo is slaves or space-beans is largely irrelevant. It's a measure born of need and practicality, as such morality doesn't come into it.

After reading all that you spout forth, I've just come to one conclusion.
Would you like some help to carry your heads?
Admit it you and members of an allied corp have committed questionable acts over the last couple of days. In trying to explain yourselves away we get nothing but quotes from scriptures and mud flung back.
Did a member of TPFM leave to join a pirate corp.? Yes, no one is denying that. Did we gather round and try and defend his actions, would be a question more to the point......
Then the age old adage of CA being pirates is flung about. Something of which you and your allies know nothing about, having never been members of the CA or ever actually been in CA space. So eager to preach forgiveness and righteousness, yet so quick to condemn by association.
Quote: My issue was the hypocrisy involved in your selective morality
That is truly the question at hand

If I should die, think only this of me: That there's some corner of a foreign field That is for ever England. |

Hardin, old chap, no Oracle pilot would dream of accusing PIE of piracy. No-one has accused PIE of piracy. Horatio was merely pointing out that you have some questionable friends.
However, as things have transpired, it turns out that Ben Freegate was acting on his own initiative, and not on AA orders. It has also transpired that the AA are resolved to remove the individual from the corp or pod him, and that Ben has decided to leave the AA, no doubt to continue his pirating career.
It seems the CVA is well able to clean house, and is as fine and upstanding as Amarrian filth gets. It is also acknowledged that Amarria Auxilia, as demonstrated by their truly apalling abuse of latin in just two words, is not CVA. I see no reason to further bring into question PIE's honour, because PIE's actions are not and were not the issue.
The GalNet is not the place for such venomous discussions regarding honour and conduct of such longstanding adversaries as PIE and Oracle. I request that Oracle pilots refrain from doing so in future. There are other channels and means of resolving such issues which should be used as first recourse.

I would venture the question is who started "slinging mud" first regarding associations with known pirates? With that in mind perhaps an ancient saying is appropriate here. Pot calling the kettle black.

I see people that defended themselves by pointing out the utter hypocrisy of the postion taken by the person who started this thread.
