Now, if you are in desperate need of a GTC topup, for example 1-2 days left till you account times out, by all means buy a GTC if it means that much to you (paying over the odds). Personally, the past few days ive been advertising WTB offers at 550Mill, late at night when things are quiet and people are willing to sell ASAP for their isk. These prices must have made an impression, as for the past 2 days people have been buying/selling them at that price, then all of a sudden they are selling at 620-650 because people are buying them.
I propose, that people who aren't in urgent need for a GTC wait/sleep it off until prices drop. I keep hearing the prices are so high because of "supply and demand". The funny thing is i ALWAYS hear this from the SELLER and NEVER from the buyer. Its pure and simply an excuse, as long time players are sure to remember, we used to get 30day GTC's for approx 150-200 mill and 90day GTC's for a mere 400 mill. Now we are paying 600mill+ for 60 day GTC's. Less time on eve, for MORE of our hard earned ISK. I say WE stop letting these people rob us blind, and refuse to buy their GTC's at their shocking prices, or at least stand together and refuse to pay over 500mill for them.
At least at 500mill, we are getting the GTC's cheaper than they currently are, and the sellers are getting 100mill more profit than they did on 90day GTC's. If GM's decide i should move this to another part of the forum then i have no problem with it. Ive went from having 4 accounts to having one, and this is losing money for CCP also, so is as much as their sake as anyone elses. STOP LETTING SELLERS DICTATE PRICES, AND LETS DICTATE TO THEM A MAXIMUM PRICE FOR 60D GTC's!!!! Please spread the word of this cause wether its by linking or copying and pasting this message (as this may be deleted soon). GM's...If need be, move this thread to another part of the forum, plz do not delete!.
EDIT:- Divided post into paragraphs...
Get over it you prat.
Go pay for the game with real money if you dont like it as thats what the people pay with when they buy gtc. Go cry somewhere else.

High demand = High prices
Don't like it, well increase supply so prices crash. Can't do that? Don't complain.

The seller has nothing to lose from not selling a GTC, if they are buying one they obviously can afford it. The buyer on the other hand loses the ability to play, and with that skill training and money making.

I am with the OP, buyers should stop buying GTCs and pay for the game the same way most people do it. . . .with cash. The price of GTCs will then plummet as no one will be buying them anymore.

I'm sure CCP would love people sending them cash as a payment.

RL currency fluctuations increase in subscription price + global economic problems ________________________________
fewer people buying GTCs with currency, more people wanting to buy them with isk
seeing as every subscription has to be paid for in cash by the account holder or a GTC buyer, that means that GTC buyers are paying more RL cash for the GTC and more people are competing with their isk for that GTC.
this is straight-up market dynamics. if you can't afford that gtc, tough ****. pay with RL currency or quit

i think cleo's problem is the gtc prices are cutting into her profits from her 20 macro accounts fueled by gtc's .....
seriously stop trying to con people for your own benefit.
this is simply supply and demand, if the demand goes down the prices will drop as fewer will sell. but your whining because you cant afford what people who constantly fund their games with in game money pay here and now. stop living in the past and pay your subscription price for once or cough up the iskies. otherwise you can do like you already mentioned, and snipe someone who only seeks fast sale at a reduced price.

The prices are high and will rise even further because of people like me, people who are in this situation:
After few years of playing, eve doesn't offer us enough excitement to pay 15$/month for it. If it were another MMO we'd already quite long ago. But in Eve we can buy the GTC, and we have gathered a huge ammount of isk in our active playtime. Moreover passive income (t2 bpos, pos etc.) generate few billions each month. That's why we'd even pay 1bil for a 1 month gtc, since it's still better than not playing at all and losing all that passive income and skilltraining. Obviously there are more people like me in game, than people who need isk for something and are willing to pay additional rl $ for it. Expect the prices rise even further - and we will be the last to care, because we have too much isk anyways, more than we can spend in a reasonable way.

So the real solution is for the GTC buyers to kill each other until there are less buyers then sellers.
Sorta like highlander, but with MMO nerds instead of immortals.
Supporting this.

I mean srly, 10M/day?
Kill 3 or 4 BS spawns (takes 30 minutes, conservatively) or do a level 4. There: the rest of the day is free.

you do know that prices are high because players like you wants this game for free?
and players, like GTC sellers, pay for you to play, because unlike you, others have a life outside EVE and can't play for more than a few hours a week ?
price too high ? don't buy it, just like that shiny new expensive sports car you can't afford ====================

The high prices, rising sharply over the last year, could also be due to the POS exploit thing. If I was getting isk for nothing I would be buying GTCs left and right and even gifting them to my friends. Or just think how easy would be to use the GTC market for money laundering.
So it could be just inflation caused by this and if buyers restrain themselves over the coming months, prices will drop. Thus OP has a point.

My main reason for not trading ISK for GTC is that i don't whant to help failures and noobs. I mean, trading real money (GTC) for electronic money (ISK) in order to compete in a game, what makes you? A failure right? Part of the game is making the ISK for PVP. If you cannot do that, then fly cheap ships, or go ratting, mining or whatever. CCP STOP THE GTC TRADE! CCP STOP CHEATERS! AHAHAHAHAHAH! BUYERS WANT TO DICTATE PRICES
Let's make it simplier, so you can understand:
While(TIME LEFT!=0){ WTS GTC 60D 580m. BUY? Y: TIME LEFT += 60; N: WAIT; TIME LEFT --; }
That's how it works. You WILL need gametime, so you either buy for 580m or you buy for 10-15$. Alternatively, you stop playing, making everybody happy. -----------------------------------------

You kinda miss the point Concord, i would have no problem buying a GTC for 580Mill. Its cheaper than the 600, which is way overpriced. Even if prices were in the 580 range, then it would be a BIG improvement.

You miss my point, then. Sellers dictate prices for primary goods, not buyers. tbqfh, sellers finally woke up and said "awh, screw it, let's make some profit" for once. i'm happy with that -----------------------------------------
