Hi guys, i think that we should boycott all these ridiculous prices. Now, if you are in desperate need of a GTC topup, for example 1-2 days left till you account times out, by all means buy a GTC if it means that much to you (paying over the odds). Personally, the past few days ive been advertising WTB offers at 550Mill, late at night when things are quiet and people are willing to sell ASAP for their isk. These prices must have made an impression, as for the past 2 days people have been buying/selling them at that price, then all of a sudden they are selling at 620-650 because people are buying them. I propose, that people who aren't in urgent need for a GTC wait/sleep it off until prices drop. I keep hearing the prices are so high because of "supply and demand". The funny thing is i ALWAYS hear this from the SELLER and NEVER from the buyer. Its pure and simply an excuse, as long time players are sure to remember, we used to get 30day GTC's for approx 150-200 mill and 90day GTC's for a mere 400 mill. Now we are paying 600mill+ for 60 day GTC's. Less time on eve, for MORE of our hard earned ISK. I say WE stop letting these people rob us blind, and refuse to buy their GTC's at their shocking prices, or at least stand together and refuse to pay over 500mill for them. At least at 500mill, we are getting the GTC's cheaper than they currently are, and the sellers are getting 100mill more profit than they did on 90day GTC's. If GM's decide i should move this to another part of the forum then i have no problem with it. Ive went from having 4 accounts to having one, and this is losing money for CCP also, so is as much as their sake as anyone elses. STOP LETTING SELLERS DICTATE PRICES, AND LETS DICTATE TO THEM A MAXIMUM PRICE FOR 60D GTC's!!!! Please spread the word of this cause wether its by linking or copying and pasting this message (as this may be deleted soon). GM's...If need be, move this thread to another part of the forum, plz do not delete!.

Good advice for people with patience and thin wallets. However Eve is moastly poplulated by people with little to no patience and fat decadent wallets overflowing with isk so go figure about the "supply and demand" part. As for the last part sellers sell so they are naturally vocal also buying isk with gtc is not exactly something you want to advertise on the forums so go figure about that part too.

Sellers are vocal? So whats the problem with BUYERS being vocal!? Not long ago, we were buying 90 DAY GTC's for 400Mill!!! and now because of greedy individuals, we are buying LESS TIME for MORE ISK
And, just for the record, am i "ADVERTISING" anything? NO!

If you understood simple economics you would understand the reason behind the price change. Simple supply and demand. Price of GTCs go up in real world money- Less GTCs are available- Price within the game goes up since it now costs far more to buy said GTCs.
Simple, end of your rant. ________________ Dark Angel Battalion |

this.
supply and demand.
the more demand there is for a fixed level of goods the more the price will go up. but it will level off at a natural level by itself. if it keeps going up, more and more people will start selling to try to cash in on the isk bonanza.
this extra supply will drive down prices due to more competition and greater customer ability to shop around.
left a previous poster said earlier, if you don't like the price don't buy the goods.

Absolutley nothing. They just don't care as they have tons of isk. Its like asking Bill Gates if he cares about rising gas prices. The question you should be asking yourself is not why are gtc for isk so high but instead why you can't afford it.

Boycott! Unless you need the item, then go ahead and buy it, but otherwise boycott!

Supply and demand, cry more about it please. If you won't buy GTCs at the current prices, someone else will be happy to buy it instead. That's what happens when supply is much lower than demand. The correction comes when people like me start to look at the GTC market and think "hmm, maybe it's time to sell a couple"... supply increases, prices stay constant or decrease. -----------

So the real solution is for the GTC buyers to kill each other until there are less buyers then sellers.

I know there is a thread were lots of reasons were discussed (economic crisis, currency fluctuation...) but not a single reason as to why such an *abrupt* change since the 90day time cards.

If you REALY think that the price for GTC's is too high, spend some rl cash and start selling them. If you spend enough cash, then you can flood the GTC market and the prices will come down.
And you will have a LOT of isk; you could probably shop around for a titan pilot.

no then once prices are in half you use half your isk to buy back all the time cards you sold away, gaining in the end 5 years of game time AND half of the isk you bought! \o/
