Hey,
I was wondering what is the formula to determine how many SP per hour i should be getting based on my current attribute levels? According to EVEmon, i have LOST sp/hour,, ie I used to have 1100+ sp/hour and now EVEmon shows it at 822/hour?? Is it possible i trained a skill that REDUCED my sp/hour? My current attribute levels are: Char:14.30, Int:12.10, Perc:9.90, Memory: 16.50, and Willpower:9.90.
Thanks!

Edited by: Gaius Sejanus on 21/12/2008 07:37:57 No skill reduces training time. The calculation for training is: Primary + Secondary/2 per minute. Multiply that by 60 to get your per hour rate.
So, in ship command, or missiles, or gunnery, which are (almost entirely) Perc/Will, you'd be training 9.9 + 4.95 = 14.85 points per minute * 60 = 891 points per hour.
If you were previously training an Int/Mem skill or Mem/Int, then that skill would be using your much higher attributes, and 1100/hour is certainly possible.

Okay,
I guess I learn something new everyday in EVE. So you are saying it depends on the skill you are training as to the SPEED of the training? Didn't know that!
Thanks!

Skill training is one of the most basic but also most important things in EVE, getting a good understanding of it should be your priority. Go to the "Skills forum resource thread" at the top of this forum and go to the second and third link there. After reading that you'll know how it works.

Its actually ((Primary*2)+(Secondary))/2 = SP/minute
By your formula there would be no difference between a primary and secondary attribute. _________________

You're reading it wrong. Multiplications/divisions have to be done before additions/substractions, so the formula posted by Gaius Sejanus is correct. Yours is also correct, but needlessly complicated - why multiply by 2 and divide by 2?

Primary + Secondary/2 = SP/min
Simple as that :) ------------

Assuming that in my formula we ignore the standard mathematical order of operations which has been in use for centuries....yes, then my formula is very very wrong.

Doesn't the skill Learning reduce the time it takes to train all skills by like 2% per rank or so? |

It does, by increasing your attributes by 2%. The attributes mentioned above will already be modified by learning. If you want more complicated formulas including (advanced) learning skills, have a look at the two threads I referred to above.
