Edited by: DarkStar251 on 22/12/2008 12:25:08 System details:
Core 2 QX6800 8GB RAM, 800mhz 4-4-4-12 2*8800GTX 2*150gb Raptors 30" 2560x1600 panel Asus Striker II Formula Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 nVidia Forceware 180.48
If I have SLI enabled in the nvidia control panel, then EVE crashes within 10-15 mins of running, completely locking up the system. This happens even if I change the eve.exe and evefile.exe profiles to use single gpu rendering.
Disabling SLI completely makes EVE stable, but then I have to re-enable it every time I want to play Left 4 Dead or whatever else :P
I have a 3rd 8800GTX as i used to run Tri-SLI, which I have taken out to put my XFi in, and have tried swapping around 8800s with this in case one was faulty, but none of them are.
Any ideas?

Uninstall the 180. drivers and use the 178.24 drivers.
The 180 version is bug ridden (check out Nvidia forums ) causing all sorts of weird and wonderfull crashes & most people (including myself) suffered from this.
Reverting back to an earlier driver set fixed the crashes.
Hope that helps. ______________________________________

I have a Q6600 @ 3.0GHz 4Gb RAM (Cruicial Tracer) 2x8800GTX Vista 64bit SP2
I see random crashes when quitting the game, like the exe doesn't terminate properly and then throws an exception, making the Windows Error dialogue appear.
This only seems to happen when quitting the game, so not sure what's going on although it's been getting worse.
I've never noticed any other crashes though, and this is with SLI enabled.

same issue here. If i have SLI enabled, EVE locks up the Computer completly after a few seconds. No problems with other games. It must be the 180 driver, nice new features but a lot of bugs. The drivers title "BigBang 2" must mean the creashes
